Mack - “Bullet Points” - Matt Rubayo, Gavin Williams, Kyle Battle, Andrew Connor, Jake Noviello

 (stats as of 4-20)

Here is this week’s five outside targets that could find themselves having their names called in the draft this year:

 . Matt Rubayo OF Marist

Rubayo is a redshirt-senior that is currently ranked second in the nation with a .500 batting average (behind his sophomore teammate, Dylan Hoy at .533)

Marist has only played six games so far this year, buy Rubayo has three homers in 18-AB, which translates to a 1.222 slugging percentage.

. Gavin Williams RHP East Carolina

The 6-6 righty is now ranked 3rd in the nation in the lowest ERA (0.86), ahead of the likes of Jack Leiter.

He is 4-0 in seven games (four starts) and has 51 strikeouts in 31.1 innings pitched.

. Kyle Battle OF Old Dominion

The unofficial Brandon Nimmo award goes to Battle, who leads the nation with 35 walks in 33 games.

One of the reasons for this many could be the respect he gets after hitting seven doubles and 11 homers in 113 at-bats this season.

(ALERT) - Don’t count out this team in the playoffs. They are 27-7, have six players hitting over .300, and three starters with 1.10, 1.09, and 1.02 ERAs.)

. Andrew Connor OF Saint Peter’s

The senior Connor currently leads the nation with a .566 on- base percentage.

Connor also is carryng a .455 batting average in the seven games his team has played so far this season.

Also… a 1.283-OPS.

 . Jake Noviello RHP Fairfield

Noviello currently ranks second in the nation with a 0.64- WHIP (behind James Madison freshman, Donovan Burke - 0.52)

Noviello stands 6-5 and has started four games so far, going 4-0, 1.29, and striking out 24 batters in 28 innings.

Opposing teams are hitting only .149 against him.

You can have great college stats, but a lot depends on the level of competition

And then there is a catcher named Mat that is now playing against major skills and he is easily leading the nation in home runs.

We will talk about him in next week's Bullets.
