I’M READY FOR WORST TO BECOME BEST
The Mets are 4th overall in OBP as a team, at .329. So far, so good.
Especially considering their pitchers have to hit.
Usually, there is a strong correlation between OBP and runs scored.
Especially so when the Mets are 2nd in team ERA in all of baseball (3.12).
Yet, not so, grasshopper - they are dead last in scoring, with 93 runs in 29 games, and barely not last in runs per game
(Detroit is ever-so-slightly worse).
So...can we please start scoring now? In bunches? Please?
If the car needs a new “clutch”, install one, pronto.
Lindor has started to hit. Good sign.
May the deluge of runs follow, as they did in 2015, when the Mets acquired Messrs. Uribe, Johnson, and Cespedes.
Before those 3 late July arrivals, the Mets were the worst hitting team in baseball.
After their arrival, though, the best hitting team in baseball.
So, Mets, you’ve been the worst so far.
Now be the best. It’s not too much to ask.
If not for yourselves, do it for us. Please.

Maybe it's the rat that's been sabotaging the bats all along. They're shifty little bastards, and most of them are Braves and Phillies supporters. Now that he's been discovered, they can get back to scoring occasional runs.
There is still clout uin the current lineup but it isn't coming from the guys filling in for Davis, Guillorme, and Nimmo.
I agree. After all this poor hitting, expel the rats and get on with it. Keep the Squirrel.
The Mets need Davis, Nimmo and Guillorme and their combined .450 OBP back ASAP, Mack.
