Former Mets PR Director, Jay Horowitz, reported this afternoon that Jeff Innis had passed away from Cancer.  

His family recently had opened a GoFund campaign so he could be with his family in Atlanta for his final days.

Jeff pitched 7 years in the majors, all for the New York Mets, 288 games, all but one in relief.

Sad news to report: Jeff Innis passed away this morning after battling cancer. He was 59. We had the honor to speak to Innis for the @MetsRewind Podcast.

Former Mets Relief Pitcher Jeff Innis is dying of Cancer.  His family have started a Go Fund me page so he can go from Houston to Atlanta to spend his final days with his family.

From the Go Fund Me Page:

"Jeff Innis, devoted father, son, brother and former New York Met, has been battling cancer since 2017. The cancer began rapidly spreading recently and his treatment, which he's currently receiving at Houston-MD Anderson hospital, is no longer viable. Keenan and Shannon are trying to air ambulance their dad home to Atlanta so he can spend his final days in hospice care with his family."
