Holt & Mejia is really big news. This makes them much closer to Flushing. I could see Holt even being a September call up. Good to see Kaplan get promoted.
Why did Familia stay?

Yes, Holt will most probably get a Sptember call-up, but that will be ceremonial at best. The Mets are quite concerned with the lack of success this year of rushed SPs.
I was at ST the week before spring training started and watched the work Rcik Waits was doing with Holt. He was held back from AA to develop secondary pitchers, something he has been successful with.
Right now, he ranks ahead of Niese as the next projected Mets starter.
Re: Familia: nowhere to go, out of respect for the Owen demotion, and the fact that the rest of Lucy's starters are doing fine.
