Durham beat Buffalo 6-4.
SP Jonathan Niese started Monday’s game, and had another disappointing outing: 6.1 IP, 5 ER, 7.82. That’s 17 ER in his last 16 innings pitched. The Mets might want to consider sending him to Extended Camp for a week, than finish the season as the SP2 behind Brad Holt, when he gets bumped up.
No outfielders were pulled early, so I guess the mash unit in Queens will remain the same in the next 24-hours.
The Bisons did manage 11 base hits, but left eight runners on bases. Cory Sullivan (.266), Jesus Feliciano (.298), Mike Lamb (.194) and Jonathan Malo (.214) each had two hits apiece.
RO Elmer Dessens (1.05) continues to outperform, adding another run-less inning.
