Posted a 9-2 record with a 2.37 ERA in 91.0 innings, limiting opponents to a .220 average. Finished the season with 176 K's which ties him for 10th, a 2.53 ERA - the lowest in school history, 18 wins, tying him for 3rd. His 89 strikeouts is tied for 6th and his nine wins on the season is tied for fourth on the single season list. Named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team after he struck out three in an inning and two-thirds of hitless baseball to pick up the win in the BIG EAST Championship game against Cincinnati (5/24). Moved to 8-1 on the season with six innings of work in the BIG EAST Championship, picking up the win over Villanova (5/21), striking out seven. Lifted his record to 7-1 with eight brilliant innings in a win over Rutgers (5/16), allowing a run on two singles, walking one and striking out eight, carrying a no-hitter into the sixth. Improved to 6-1 by baffling one of the top hitting teams in the nation, allowing one earned run in 6.1 IP at WVU (5/10), striking out seven. Struck out a career-best 10 in eight innings, picking up the win over GU (5/2), scattering six hits and not allowing a run. Was back to his 2007 form again, making the BIG EAST Honor Roll with eight innings of one-run baseball, striking out a career-best nine in win over Villanova (4/19). Worked six scoreless innings in win at USF (4/12), striking out four. Picked up his second win of the season with five shutout innings against Kent (3/15), striking out six. Threw 4.2 innings of scoreless relief against Xavier (3/11), striking out four. Logged a solid six innings of shutout baseball at The Citadel (3/1), but picked up a no decision. Picked up the win in his 2008 debut, fanning four in five one-hit innings against CSU (2/22).

5-17: http://www.bigeast.org/ - Junior lefthanded pitcher Justin Marks of Louisville was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week after his commanding performance in the first of three games against USF. Freshman second baseman T.J. Jones of Cincinnati was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week after scoring the winning run in the last game of the season to punch the Bearcat’s ticket to the BIG EAST Championship in Clearwater, Fla.

In a season full of solid performances, Marks saved his best effort for his biggest start of the year. He scattered four hits in 7.2 shutout innings in Louisville's 2-1 win against first-place USF, sparking the Cardinals' three-game sweep of the Bulls that delivered the BIG EAST regular-season title to Louisville. Marks struck out 12 without walking a batter to improve to 9-2 on the year and improve his own school records for career wins (27), strikeouts (282) and earned-run average (2.82).
