TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons take on the Gwinnett Braves in the second game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:35 p.m.). The Herd lost to the Braves 8-7 in 10 innings last night despite a five-run rally in the 9th. Following Sunday’s game, the Bisons will take on Rochester in a four-game home-and-home series.



vs. BRAVES: With last night’s loss, the Bisons are 2-3 against the Braves this season. The teams split a four-game series at Gwinnett, June 21-24 with the Braves outscoring the Herd, 24-17. The two teams have split each of the three, four-game series they’ve played since Gwinnett’s inaugural season in 2009.



HOMERING HERD: The Bisons hit four home runs last night. Buffalo got a two-homer game from OF FERNANDO MARTINEZ, a pinch-hit homer from INF VALENTINO PASCUCCI and back-to-back homers from Pascucci and C J.R. HOUSE. The Herd now leads the IL with 101 blasts on the season, four more than any other team. Buffalo has 20 homers in 12 games this month. The Bisons already have 21 more home runs than they hit all of last year (80).



DISH ON MISCH: LHP PAT MISCH has won each of his last four starts. In those wins, the southpaw has posted a 2.10ERA and only four walks to 16 strikeouts. Misch currently leads the IL with 112.1 innings work and leads all lefties with nine wins on the season. On Wednesday, he tossed an inning of shutout relief (BB, 2K) in the International League’s 2-1 victory over the Pacific Coast League in the Triple-A All-Star Game from Lehigh Valley, PA.



F-MART: OF FERNANDO MARTINEZ hit a pair of home runs in last night’s victory. The outfielder led off the fifth and seventh innings with blasts, giving him nine on the year. INF RUSS ADAMS was the last Bison to have a two-homer game, June 28 against Charlotte. Martinez is on a five-game hit streak averaging .350 (7-20) with a double, two home runs and four RBI.

SERVIN CERVENAK: INF MIKE CERVENAK drove in his 23rd RBI last night. Cervenak has at least one RBI in seven of his last night games (8RBI total). During that stretch, Cervenak has hit .351 (13-37) with five runs scored, two doubles and two walks.
