TONIGHT’S GAME: This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Rochester Red Wings in the second game of a two-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd needs a win today to earn a split of the set as the Wings won 9-2 last night. The Bisons are 29-20 at home this season while Rochester is 19-30 on the road. Following today’s game, the Bisons leave for an eight-game roadtrip in Toledo and Columbus.
vs. RED WINGS: The Bisons are 6-4 against the Red Wings this season. The Bisons have two series wins and two splits against Rochester. Both splits came at Frontier Field while a 2-1 series win came in Buffalo, July 1-3. The Herd swept a two-game set in Rochester prior to this two-game series.
LHP BOBBY LIVINGSTON is making just his second start since June 13. The southpaw has worked in relief in six of his last seven appearances, going 1-0 with a 4.82ERA over that span. Livingston has pitched much better at home this season, with a 2-2 record and a 3.88ERA in 10 games and seven starts at Coca-Cola Field (6.18ERA on the road).
ROSTER SHUFFLE: The Bisons added a fourth player to their active roster in a week today with the activation of INF JUSTIN TURNER. Turner was optioned by the Mets on Tuesday night after collecting one hit in eight at-bats in four games with New York. The Bisons also announced that INF ANDY GREEN has been placed on the disabled list with a right calf strain.
OF JESUS FELICIANO continues to close in on league qualification. The outfielder needs to make up just 23 plate appearances for his average to qualify among the league leaders. At .356, Feliciano’s average would be 41 points higher than any other player in the International League. Feliciano has hit in five of seven games since being optioned by the Mets.
