Johnny Eierman:
link - Johnny Eierman, Warsaw, Missouri HS - Eierman gave a maximum effort on the middle infield but clearly is better suited for the outfield. He does not exhibit a great arm, but his other basic tools are staggering. Stocky and strong at 5-foot-11 and 193 pounds, Eierman ripped off a 6.41 60 and sprang to a 34 inch vertical leap. In BP, he launched several jaw dropping shots over the distant Blair field fences. Eierman did not hit well in the games. However, when Eierman learns and incorporates the proper fundamentals into his swing, he could become an elite prospect similar to Mike Trout of the Angels.
Andy Burns:
7-26 from: - link - Here are some names of draft eligibles for 2011 who have not been mentioned much and are definitely on the radar for 2011 MLB scouting depts. – Third Base - Andy Burns, Kentucky, 6'2 190, R/R, raw tools, lots of holes in his swing and will have to show more consistency as hitter and discipline to be talked about in first 3 rounds, definitely ability is there however.
Parker French:
8-11-10 from: - link - Parker French (Dripping Springs, TX), a big righthander, started for Texas and pitched two shutout innings with four Ks. He was popping the catcher's glove with a 90-93 mph fastball and threw several 76-78 slurves, as well as at least one plus changeup.
Tyler Beede:
8-11-10 from: - link - Tyler Beede, rhp, Lawrence Academy, Auburn, Mass. Beede’s arm action is admirably smooth and fluid. His fastball leaves his hand easily, sits in the low 90s and peaks at 93. “The basics are there," the scout said. "He is very tall and very projectable, and his arm is very clean. He doesn’t have a great deal of life on his fastball, but that should come in time.”
Gerrit Cole:
8-12 from: - link - Gerritt Cole dominated Hong Kong, allowing one earned run through six innings. He also blanked Cuba in the finale, though that performance was characteristic of his time with Team USA—in seven innings, Cole allowed 10 hits and one walk. In 25 innings total, Cole has allowed 24 hits while only walking four and striking out 23), yet only two runners have made it across the plate for an ERA of 0.72. His 6/1 K/BB ratio certainly bodes well for UCLA heading into next season.
