Aaron Brown:
8-11 from: - link - Aaron Brown, Chatsworth (Calif.) HS - Muscular and powerfully built, Brown runs (6.87) and throws well and is an ideal fit for either corner outfield spot. As a hitter, Brown is extremely aggressive and exhibits bat speed and power potential. Like many over-eager young hitters, he will need to learn not to commit and spin out his hips and front side too soon.
8-12-10: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=117 - Outfielder/lefthanded pitcher Aaron Brown (6'1" 205) from Chatsworth HS-West Hills (CA) closed the game with a quick 1-2-3 seventh inning. He was 87-89 and has a plus change-up that he throws with identical arm speed to his fastball.
KC Serna:
7-26 from: - link - Here are some names of draft eligibles for 2011 who have not been mentioned much and are definitely on the radar for 2011 MLB scouting depts. – Shortstops - KC Serna, Oregon, 6'0 185, R/R, strong arm and has ok speed, pop in his bat, also pitches, bat will decide where he goes, glove is adequate to stick at SS.
Jerrick Suiter:
8-11-10 from: - link - Lots of radar guns went up in the second game when Jerrick Suiter (Valparaiso, IN), a 6-3, 210-pound righthander with a smooth delivery, entered the contest in the fifth. He worked two innings on Saturday and came back and tossed two more on Monday. The three-sport star allowed only one hit, one walk, and no runs while punching out seven of the 14 batters faced in his two outings. Suiter coupled an 88-92 mph fastball with a 73-74 plus curveball.
Rio Ruiz:
8-11-10 from: - link - Rio Ruiz, rhp, Bishop Amat HS, La Puente, Calif. - Ruiz suffered through a poor tryout at Westmont College in Santa Barbara and did not make either Brewers AC team. Named to the Yankees squad, he has come to life in Long Beach, showing flashes of exciting bat speed as a hitter and a power pitching arm. Stoutly built at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Ruiz shows hitters no mercy by pounding home a 91-93 fastball that peaks close to 94. His 75 mph curve is a bit of an afterthought. A member of the 2012 class, Ruiz has two more years to exhibit his intriguing array of skills. At this stage, scouts seem evenly split on whether they prefer Ruiz as a pitcher or position player.
8-12-10: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=117 - Yankees infielder Rio Ruiz (6'2" 190, L/R, 2012) from Bishop Amat HS-La Puente (CA) for some reason was not included on the Brewers (Blue) team but it is not because he isn't good enough. In one at-bat he smacked a 91 mph fastball for a 2-RBI triple off Brickhouse. He has a plus arm across the diamond as well as having plus bat speed and fringe average speed. Ruiz also pitches and was a steady 91-92 in one inning, with a usable breaking ball.
Matt Andriese:
8-12-10 from: - link - The Cotuit Kettleers rode the arm of Matt Andriese (Cal Riverside) to a 3-0 win over Yarmouth-Dennis on Wednesday in Game 1 of the best-of-three Cape Cod Baseball League Championship Series at Red Wilson Field. Andriese pitched a complete-game shutout to put his team one win away from the title. The series switches to Lowell Park for Thursday’s Game 2. The Cotuit starter tossed 120 pitches, and 85 of them crossed the dish for strikes. He lost the no-hit bid in the fifth inning on Ben McMahan’s (Florida) two-out single. He allowed just three hits, while striking out four, walking one and hitting one.
