LAST GAME: Binghamton used a nine-run, third-inning rally to

overtake Reading en route to an 11-9 win Saturday night at

NYSEG Stadium. Robert Carson benefited from the run support

to pick up his first Double-A win despite allowing five runs

on 11 hits over five innings. Drew Naylor took the loss with

nine runs allowed on seven hits over 2.1 innings, his worst

start of the season. 10 consecutive hitters reached in the

marathon third inning. Marshall Hubbard tied the game at

three with a two-run single to center, opening the frame’s

scoring and Raul Reyes was the last to reach with a two-run

triple, making it 10-3. Despite the big frame, the R-Phils hung

around and outhit the B-Mets 18-14. Brahiam Maldonado and

Sean Ratliff both ripped three hits in the contest. Roy Merritt

nailed down the save, his seventh, by retiring the final four

Reading hitters.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Josh Stinson looks to

rebound after losing his first game as a starter in his last turn

through the rotation, August 8 at Trenton. He gave up four

runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings. Stinson is 9-2 with a 3.63

ERA over 109 innings (31G/13GS). In 2009, he split the season

between Savannah (Low-A) and St. Lucie (High-A) and

went 5-3 with eight saves and a 2.86 ERA in 78.2 innings

combined. The Mets took the right-hander in the 37th round

of the June 2006 draft out of Northwood HS (LA).

RHP Kyle Drabek will make his 24th start of the season tonight

for New Hampshire. He last started August 7 versus

Bowie when he tossed six, shutout innings and held the Baysox

to two hits and a walk, while striking out seven to earn the

win. Drabek is 12-9 with a 2.92 ERA over 142 innings. The

righty ranks in a tie for first in the league in wins, third in ERA

and innings and first in average against. He was traded to

Toronto in the Roy Halladay deal. Drabek was drafted by the

Phillies in the first round of the June 2006 draft out of The

Woodlands HS (TX). He was considered the No.2 prospect in

the Phillies organization at the time of the trade. His father,

Doug Drabek, was the 1990 National League Cy Young Award

winner while with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
