After striking out 99 of the 400 total batters he faced during the college season, Bradley tied for the Cape lead in strikeouts with 44. Bradley has a prototypical pitcher’s build and smooth, repeatable motion. Working with a low-90’s fastball that can touch 94 MPH, Bradley shows good feel for a changeup and the makings of an average breaking ball. While his stuff is solid, Bradley’s calling card is his command. He walked only six batters this spring. The 2011 draft class is deep in power arms so Bradley might not get first-round love, but has the makings of a solid, middle-of-the-rotation starter.
Jackie Bradley:
8-27 from: - link - OF Jackie Bradley South Carolina 5'10 175 L/R - gamer with tools, pluses are instincts and quickness, with very quick bat that generates enough power to hit 8-10 HR in pro ball and be top of lineup guy or down the ladder lineup guy to help ignite late rallies. Throws well enough to stay in CF with range to alleys and instincts to get jumps to keep runners honest rounding third. Solid runner, not a burner however but will steal occ bases.
Archie Bradley:
8-27 from: - link - RHP Archie Bradley Muskogee HS, Oklahoma 6'3 205 - power arm righty with above ave ML CB that's a knuckle curve, with sharp downer action and control is good of it. FB velo varies, will touch 95 on occ, pitches at 88-91 consistently, should increase as he gets football out of his system. Is a top notich HS QB and early commit to OU, but also loves this game and will be highly scouted early next spring. Comps to Brad Penny, but Brad's more max effort, this kid tends to get better as the game goes along and does it easy.
Austin Hedges:
8-31-10 from: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=142 - Austin Hedges - C, 6'0" 184, R/R, J Serra HS (CA) - Hedges was the best all-around catcher, perhaps the top all-around position player at Area Codes. He is a frontline defensive catcher, with outstanding catch/throw skills, a plus arm, strong receiving skills, and good agility. If he were only a high level defensive catcher he would be a prospect but he also has a chance to hit for average power and just might be an average hitter.
John David Crowe Jr.:
8-12-10 from: - link - C - Oak Mountain HS, Birmingham Crowe is an advanced lefthanded bat with power. He makes consistent, hard contact with his clean, easy stroke and good bat speed. Crowe has a strong, athletic frame and is a good athlete behind the plate. His throws to second base show above-average arm strength and accuracy. He has committed to Auburn.
