2. For what it’s worth, Nick Evans, Chin-ling Hu (any relation?), Jason Pridie, Manny Acosta, Mack Ade, Luis Hernandez, and Pat Misch are out of options. I would think only Hu could be claimed by someone if all these guys are DFA’d in spring training.
3. I saw the Mack-Rubin ( is that like a Jewish hero being sold at Micky D’s?) lobby for Pujois to the Mets had some legs on the internet, but no reference was made to our original posting.
4. Mets pitching prospect SP Gonzalez Germen’s on-again, off-again dismissal from the Mets and statements that he will not be returning stateside in 2011 have proved to be some pipedream GG invented . He’s back at the academy in the Dominican Republic and I expect him to SP2 at Brooklyn, behind top prospect Juan Urbina.
5. C Kai Gronauer checked in and said he is still in Germany, preparing for the spring training. Reporting dates should be going out to the minor leaguers in the next week or so.
6. We’ve got a new writer on Mack’s Mets… Dan Valis, who also owns and operates his own Mets blog, http://bigapplemetstalk.com/ . Please welcome him aboard.
7. Another big PR day at Citi Field today... lots of kids, a few Mets, and some bloggers. Gotta give Sandy credit... he's trying.
