(Blake) Swihart utilizes a long and loose swing with similarities in style to Mark Teixeira. While this style joined with his bat speed allows for good whip in the barrel, Swihart is a little too loose right now and will need to tighten up a little in order to max out on his barrel control -- something that should come as he increases his strength. When he squares he produces hard contact and has the capability to grow into solid power. He shows a high level of comfort from both sides of the plate. - http://diamondscapescouting.com/rankings_2011_preseason_catcher.html
In less than an hour on the opening morning (Saturday, Jan. 8) of the Perfect Game World Showcase at Terry Park, Tanner English proved to possess both the fastest legs and strongest outfield arm among all the participants. It was a pretty impressive showing for the 5-foot-9, 165-pound senior outfielder and right-handed pitcher from St. James High School in Murrels Inlet, S.C., who has signed a national letter of intent to play for defending NCAA Division I College World Series national champion University of South Carolina. English’s morning workout session at the World Showcase was nothing short of world-class. He turned in the event’s fastest 60-yard dash in 6.37 seconds and had the highest velocity on his throw from the outfield to home plate at 97 mph - http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=5158

North Carolina confirmed two days ago that Brian Goodwin will transfer to Miami-Dade CC for his sophomore season, making him eligible for the 2011 draft. The university had suspended Goodwin for the 2011 season for violations of its academic policy. Goodwin batted .291/.409/.511 with seven homers and seven steals as a freshman, starting all 60 games for the 38-22 Tar Heels. We ranked him as the sixth-best prospect in the Cape Cod League last summer , citing his well above-average raw power and speed and his potential as a center fielder. He's a possible first-round pick in June, as the only better up-the-middle college athletes available are outfielders George Springer (Connecticut) and Jackie Bradley (South Carolina). - http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/ask-ba/2011/2611113.html
Zach Cone is a junior at Georgia. He is an athletic OF that can play CF currently but will likely be a corner OF. He has the arm to play RF and that is likely where he'll end up. He is very athletic and comes from a family of athletes. His father was a running back at Georgia Tech and his brother is currently a wide receiver at Georgia Tech. He is a a right handed hitter and thrower and is 6'2", 200 LBS. He was a 3rd round pick in 2008 by the Angels. On the bases, Cone isn't a burner but he is above average and could pose a threat to steal 20 bases as a pro. He picks his spots to run and that allows his speed to play up. It also allows him to play all 3 OF positions - http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/
