Familia scouting report from team Toledo –
Familia threw 91 pitches, 56 of which were strikes (61.5
percent), which broke down this way ...
•First inning: 9 pitches, 7 strikes (77.8
percent)
•Second inning: 10 pitches, 6 strikes (60
percent)
•Third inning: 21 pitches, 16 strikes (76.2
percent)
•Fourth inning: 14 pitches, 8 strikes (57.1
percent)
•Fifth inning: 11 pitches, 6 strikes (54.5
percent)
•Sixth inning: 24 pitches, 13 strikes (54.2
percent)
Familia threw first-pitch strikes to 14 of the 23 batters he
faced (60.7 percent), and it was interesting to note that he threw a LOT of
first pitch strikes in the innings where he gave up the runs, the second
(5-of-6) and the sixth (3-of-5). He reached an 0-2 count to four hitters (two
strikeouts, two outs), fell behind 2-0 only twice (and still got two outs), and
reached a three-ball count four times (and gave up a walk, a single and a
triple along with a double-play).
Sorry I don't have his pitch speeds, but I do remember he
threw a LOT of fastballs. I may be exaggerating slightly, but I remember he threw
at least 75 percent fastballs in the first (and sat in the mid-90s with it). - link
SP Dylan Owen didn’t get off to a good start tonight,
giving up three runs in the first inning. This was followed by five more in the
second. Okay, the guy is having a bad night. So, you leave him in to give up 13
runs in four innings? This makes you a great manager? Disgusting display of
bully management.
AA-Binghamton:
3B Jefry Marte (.292) hit his 4th homer in
the first…
Mark Cohoon
(5-ER, 6-IP) ballooned,
Brandon Moore (27.00) wished he stayed home,
and Brad Holt (4.67) continued to flop out
of the pen.
2B Reese Havens – 1-4, .158.
A+ - St. Lucie: -
C Blake Forsythe (.286) batting 5th… hitting .414 last 10
games… SP Tyler Pill on his first A+ bump.
Did well for first A+ outing: 5.1-IP, 8-H, 2-R, 2-K, 3.38… Jason Bay played LF… Jonathan Clark debuted
at RF, singling his first time up (1.000). Didn’t I just tell you yesterday
there wouldn’t be any changes here? Zo Harris (.272)
hit his 1st homer of the season in the first… 3B Wilmer Flores (.315) singled in SS Wilfredo
Tovar (.296) in the third… nice debut for Clark who singled in ZeErika McQueen for walk-off win.
A – Savannah:
