My "Local" Team - USCB Sand Sharks

The dream season of the University of South Carolina-Beaufort (USCB) Sand Sharks came to an abrupt end in the third round of the NAIA World Series in May; but three key senior put this team on the map in only their fourth year of existence.
All three are viable candidates for the three day MLB Rule 4 Players Draft, beginning June 4th.

LHSP Michael Heesh
The Chicago-born senior was the ace of the Sand Sharks rotation. Heesh produced a school-record 78K (76.1-IP) as a junior in 2011 and followed that up this past season with 118-K’s in 122.1-IP (only 13-BB). Michael throws a zone pounding fastball that hits 94, but his ‘go-to’ has always been his +slider. The 6-5 lefty had an especially rewarding game when he struck out 12 batters on the nationally ranked Embry-Riddle team a year ago. He attended Illinois-Chicago before transferring to USCF for his last two collegiate seasons.
2011 stat line:  18-G, 18-ST, 9-3, 5-CG, 1-SH, 2.21, 122.1-IP, 118-K, 13-BB, 1-E

LF Ty Main
Another senior, Ty is out of Middletown, Maryland, and played both his junior and senior year for the Sand Sharks. Ty hit .317 (.483 slugging) this past season, with 5-HR, 9-doubles, 3-triples, and 22-BB in 180-AB. A George Mason transferee, Main was named to the Washington Post All-Metro first team as a high school senior.

CF RJ Neal
‘RJ” is a 4-year USCB player who has been a member of the team since its inception. In 2012, the Boynton Beach, Florida native hit a collective .352/.497 slug% over the four years, and was a team leader throughout his career at USCB. Neal is a graduate of Park Vista High School (FL) and was a member of the 2003 Little League World Series U.S. champion East Boynton Beach team.

Dale and I had a good night's sleep and got up bright and early to take our load over to the receiver to get unloaded, and afterwards spot the empty back at our companies terminal before grabbing another full load to bring back East. The trip out had been pretty easy and the butterflies finally disappeared a few hundred miles down the road. Now it was time for me to be the driver pulling out first while Dale climbed into the sleeper. We had a few events in the mountains coming back, a few trucks had hit black ice and been thrown off the road causing a traffic jam- up for a few miles. Thank goodness we were waved down by a trooper to slow down before we hit the ice. We could see ahead of us a cattle car turned over and cows running to and fro but no driver chasing them. That's because he had been crushed by the trailer pin snapping and moving the trailer through his cab and killing him instantly. This sight sent shudders through my body and I again asked myself what the hell was I doing out here. The job description of an electrical engineer resume is to design electrical equipments as per the requirements of the company or industry you are working for. They basically work in various sectors such as rail transportations, power plants etc. Students also have the opportunity to enter training that focuses on foot reflexology. This particular part of the field is usually incorporated into massage therapy associates degree programs. Students will learn to massage different parts of the foot to improve health, energy flow, and alleviate pain. Programs typically provide a high level of hands-on training to prepare students for careers. The safety and health issues correlated with this part of reflexology are also learned. There are those who believe that a Job-less Apple is not as threatening an idea as I believe it to be. They believe that while Steve Jobs is unarguably a significant part of the Apple story, the success of the company is attributable to the work of many - not just one man. Apple has existed with & without Jobs over the years and while it is certain that Jobs has brought a lot of value, the thought that Apple, a system of so many organs, arteries, and working processes, would face a terminal diagnosis with his excision, is presumptuous and impossible. IBM moved forward with the loss of Tom Watson. Microsoft moved forward, and continues to do so as the market leader, without Bill Gates as CEO.
