St. Lucie Mets right fielder Jonathan Clark ripped a walk-off single to center to score ZeErika McQueen in the bottom of the ninth to give the Mets a 3-2 victory over the Clearwater Threshers in the opener of a four-game series.
Clark, playing in his first game with the Mets in the Florida State League, went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, a stolen base, and an RBI to lift the Mets to the win.
Tyler Pill made his debut on the mound with St. Lucie and allowed two runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings with one walk and two strikeouts.
Jason Bay went 0-for-3 with a walk in his third game on a major league rehab assignment with St. Lucie.
Alonzo Harris launched his first home run of the season, a leadoff shot over the left field fence in the first inning to give the Mets an early 1-0 advantage.
Wilfredo Tovar hit a leadoff double in the third inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly RBi by Wilmer Flores.
Hamilton Bennett pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief and gave up one hit while walking two and striking out a pair of batters.
John Church tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
Ryan Fraser picked up the victory in relief with a scoreless ninth inning.
