REMARKABLE REMARKABLE REMARKABLE
We all know about the Cy Young award. And the MVP award.
What do you call a guy who has a chance to win both of them?
No, not Jake deGrom.
How about:
Shohei Othani
What has he done so far this season?
Hitting?
12 HRs, 10 doubles, 28 RBIs, 29 runs. Wow.
Pitching?
5 starts, 1-0, 25.2 IP, 11 H, 40 Ks, 2.10 ERA. Wow.
MOST REMARKABLE PLAYER.
When he was signed, the Mets expressed some distant interest.
Forrest Gump reminded me that Stupid is as Stupid Does.

Stevie bought us too late and Freddy, Jeffy and Saul were masters at too little too late. Could we all even contemplate for a moment Othani on our team. It is interesting that with Trout AND Ohtani the Angels haven"t spent much time in the playoffs but man would watching him for 15 years or so be a hoot playoffs or not and I sure hope someday soon we get our own Ohtani or Soto or Acuna or well you get the idea that I now dream big because I'm old and like that old Kinks song "I'm tired of waiting".
Gary, Megill is pitching great and singled and scored and brought another run home on a groundout- maybe Ohtani Light?
Ohtani is the most talented player in the bigs right now. Hands down. Although I wonder where he would play when he isn't pitching without a DH. Maybe he would only PH every game. Angels have used him in the field only for a few innings in RF I think. I'm not sure it would work as smoothly in the NL but Ohtani is someone you make room for.
Aidan, if the Mets had Ohtani, I think Dom Smith would be on the bench a lot. But as a pitcher, I agree, he really needs to DH. Protect that spectacular arm.
