In the first round (2nd pick) of the amateur draft, the A's select future Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson. The Mets, with the first overall pick, choose Steve Chilcott, a high school catcher who will never play a day in the major league.

Baty is truly impressing.

I hope Baty can move up to AA in July. When a guy starts getting walked a lot -- like Alvarez was in St. Lucie -- it's time to face the next challenge.

Mauricio still very raw, just 20, few walks and a ton of strikeouts. Needs a full season in Brooklyn.
