Tom Brennan - Look at the Bright Side

CASEY STENGEL HAD A GAME PLAN IN 1962.

SO, IT SEEMS, DOES CARLOS MENDOZA.

 Bright side, if you please?

Well, the mess (my tablet got it right, but for clarity, the Mets) are only a half a game out of having the worst record in baseball after losing 11 straight.

Maybe this continues all year and they get the number one overall pick; this team could use a Konnor Griffin draft pick.

Mets already trail the Braves by 8.5 games.

We need Bucky Dent to bring us back. Only he can do it.

We’re grooving like it is 1962 all over again.

Orioles won last night 7-5, with 2 runs in the first 9 innings, but 10 in the 10th.

Former Met Anthony Nunez got the win. He and former Met Helsley have ERAs below 2.00.

Alonso 0-4, batting .198. It ain’t 2019 any more.

Tom,
A number one draft choice would certainly help, but the team drops by 10 slots because of their salary "overage". Stearns has a challenging job to get this team competitive.

It drops 10 picks - UNLESS it is in the top 6.

Good to know, plus how many of these salaries we can sell off and grow our farm system even more. Complete reset and have Soto and Lindor become roommates for the rest of the season on the road

Hey, they are “only” 6 out of a WC spot with 11 teams ahead of the Mets.

And they do have 140 games to squeeze in. Nah…they are toast.

Tom,
You are right, I guess I was not thinking the team would be 1-6. Not dropping would be great for the 2027 draft if that happened.

101 days to the trade deadline. Cellar dwellers tend to be net sellers.
