12/10/13

Draft 15 – Kyle Molnar, Isiah Gilliam, Nolan Kingham, Brendan Rodgers,Wesley Rodriguez

11-2-13 - Perfect Game USA ‏@PerfectGameUSA  - 2015 Kyle Molnar (CA) with top OF velo at CA underclass throwing 92 mph! 2016 Holden Groff (CA) looked very good and threw 90 mph from OF!

10-28-13 – Jim Callis - Another 2015 prospect, right fielder Isiah Gilliam (Parkview High, Lilburn, Ga.), provided the key hit of the game when he tripled off an 88-mph Blewett fastball to plate the tying run in the bottom of the fourth. A 6-foot-2, 210-pound switch-hitter, he may wind up at first base in pro ball but does have arm strength to go with his enticing power. http://ht.ly/qeYJz

10-4-13 – ScoutingBaseball.com - 50 Names To Watch In The 2015 Prep Class – 15. Nolan Kingham   RHP   Sierra Vista (NV)   None http://sbb.scout.com/2/1332771.html

10-29-13 - Jeff Sullivan ‏@JSully12  -  I don't know if there is a better HS baseball player in the country than 2015 SS Brendan Rodgers.

10-27-13 – PG Showcase Jupiter - Wesley Rodriguez (George Washington HS, Bronx, N.Y.) Rodriguez, meanwhile, handled the bottomless GBG Marucci lineup, striking out five in three innings to overcome some tough defense behind him. His fastball featured heavy run from a three-quarter slot, ranging between 85-90 and topping out at 92 in the first. He also showed the ability to spin a 74-75 breaking ball that was current average with a good chance for more. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/projectable-righties-rule-as-playoff-push-begins-in-jupiter/

12/6/13

Draft 15 – Kyle Molnar, Donnie Everett, Jake Woodford, Jonathan Olsen, Dylan Cyphert

11-7-13 - 2015 Top Prospects - 2013 California Underclass Showcase - Kyle Molnar - RHP - 2015 - Aliso Viejo, CA -  Fastball sat 89-91, cruised through three innings facing the minimum, got swings and misses not only by overpowering hitters with the fastball, but also by snapping off several nasty curveballs and has introduced a hard slider into his repertoire. Impressive OF tools/ability as well and could have made the top prospect list as an OF only. http://www.perfectgame.org/events/Showcases/TopProspectList.aspx?event=1692

11-6-13 – Todd Gold – WWBA World Championship – Donnie Everett (2015 RHP, Royals Scout Team) - Every year the Royals Scout Team is filled with strong candidates for this category, and while Everett wasn't the only talented player who fits well here, he is the one that made the strongest impression. The bleary eyed scouting contingent that arrived at the complex in time for the start of the first time slot on day four, just a few hours after leaving the night before, were jolted awake when the sturdy built 6-foot-2 220-pound underclassmen fired a 95 mph fastball during his warmup. He then sat 90-94 in his first inning of work and backed it with a hard spinning curveball in the low-80s that flashed hard biting action. He's a pitcher who will be watched very closely in his return trip to Jupiter next year. http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=9157

11-3-13 - Kendall Rogers ‏@KendallRogersPG  - #UCLA commit RT @PerfectGameUSA: 2015 RHP Jonathan Olsen (CA) very impressive this morning! High 80's FB and very good CB! Projects well!

11-3-13 - Border Battle ‏@SABorderBattle  - 2015 Penn State Commit Dylan Cyphert LHP has been up to 89 MPH Cranberry HS PA Cyphert will be a big prospect on summer/fall circuit in 2014

11/6/13

Draft 15 – Noah Burkholder, Beau Burrows, Kyle Molnar, Daz Cameron, Anthony Molina

draft 15 - noah burkholder10-28-13 – Jim Callis -  One of the best pitching matchups of the tournament pitted Marucci Elite's Keith Weisenberg (Osceola High, Seminole, Fla.) against Chicago Scouts Association's Noah Burkholder (Crown Point, Ind., High). Burkholder won't be Draft-eligible until 2015, but he outpitched Weisenberg on Saturday. He showed good body control for a 17-year-old who stands 6-foot-7. The right-hander threw 44 of his 71 pitches for strikes and issued just two walks in five shutout innings of what ended up being a 4-0 victory. Burkholder's fastball parked at 87-89 mph for all five innings, topping out at 91 mph and elicting swings and misses with its sinking life. Six of his eight strikeouts came via his heater, which should add velocity as he fills out his 190-pound frame. The Louisville recruit also threw some tight 77-82 mph sliders. Noah Burkholder inherits his height from his father Brett, who's 6-foot-10. The elder Burkholder played basketball for Ray Meyer at DePaul and was drafted by the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks. http://ht.ly/qeYJz

10-4-13 – ScoutingBaseball.com - 50 Names To Watch In The 2015 Prep Class – 14. Beau Burrows   RHP   Weatherford (TX)   Texas A&M http://sbb.scout.com/2/1332771.html

10-27-13 – PG Showcase Jupiter – RHP Kyle Molnar (Aliso Niguel HS, Aliso Viejo, Calif.) Pitching for CBA Marucci, Molnar had depth in his arm action, but his athletic delivery and loose arm still allowed the ball to jump out of his hand with ease. He eventually dropped to 88-90 in his final two innings, and also mixed three promising offspeed offerings: a 77-79 slider, a 72-75 curveball with bite, and an 81-84 changeup with run and sink. He is committed to UCLA. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/projectable-righties-rule-as-playoff-push-begins-in-jupiter/

10-28-13 - There were several other players of note in the East Cobb-Syracuse matchup. East Cobb outfielder Dazmon Cameron (Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, McDonough, Ga.) is the top-rated prospect for the 2015 First-Year Player Draft. The son of former All-Star Mike Cameron, Dazmon showed quick hands when he lined a Blewett fastball in the 90s for a single to center field in the first inning. He's a 6-foot, 186-pounder who continues to get faster and stronger and could develop plus tools across the board. http://ht.ly/qeYJz

10-28-13 – Jim Callis - Right-hander Anthony Molina didn't reach the mid-90s in two innings of work for the South Florida Elite Squad on Saturday, though he did touch 93 mph twice and averaged 90 mph. He's still growing into his 6-foot-4, 184-pound frame and could stand to tighten his clean delivery a bit. He worked mainly with his fastball, which accounted for 29 of his 38 pitches (21 for strikes), and mixed in a few 74-76 mph curveballs. He struck out four batters and left with a 3-1 lead, though the Dallas Tigers eventually rallied for a 5-4 win. Though Molina still has three high school seasons ahead of him, he already has committed to Miami. http://ht.ly/qeYJz

10/25/13

Draft 15 – Brandon Rodgers, Kyle Dean, Jahmai Jones, Garrett Gray, Kyle Molnar

draft - brendan rodgers10-5-13 - Jeff Sullivan ‏@JSully12 - Brendan Rodgers is the real deal! Have him at 2 right now in the country for the 2015 class. Stood out big time at TOS.

10-4-13 – ScoutingBaseball.com - 50 Names To Watch In The 2015 Prep Class - 2. Kyle Dean   OF   Poway (CA)   San Diego http://sbb.scout.com/2/1332771.html

9-9-13 – BA Top 2015 HS Prospects – Jahmai Jones SS  6-0 205 R R Wesleyan Roswell GA   Georgia Roadrunners  -  Very good all around player. Hitting tools stood out at WWBA. Impressed at PG Jr. National

9-21-13 – C Garrett Gray (2015) came in to catch the final two innings for the Prospects National Team and showed well defensively. He has a very strong, accurate arm with a nice transfer and popped a 1.94 and 2.00 in his two in-between inning throws. A switch hitter at the plate, Gray has power potential in his strong, quick bat from the right side. .  http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=9017

10/2/13

Draft 15 – Alex Bregman, Daz Cameron, Kyle Molnar, David Hearne, Kyle Funkhouser

draft 15 - alex bregman7-17-13 –  Alex Bregman, 2B, LSU: Bregman is a polished hitter who saw time at 2B and played the position well.  He's a good athlete who runs pretty well but it's all about the bat with Bregman.  He has a nice approach at the plate.  He's quick and short to the ball, showing  good bat speed.  Bregman squared the ball up consistently in both games and looks like he should have average power despite his smallish size (5'11", 185 lbs). http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2013/07/looking-ahead-to-the-2014-and-2015-mlb-draft-notes-from-the-collegiate-national-team-games/

9-3-13 - Daz Cameron has people excited for the 2015 Draft already. I’m probably his biggest fan already and that’s really for 2 reasons. Georgia talent seems to have a soft spot in my heart and the kid can flat out rake. The question is will it be enough to be considered the best over names like Clint Frazier and Austin Meadows or 1 year earlier Byron Buxton who’s pretty much the consensus #1 prospect in baseball. http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/2013/09/02/daz-cameron-will-he-be-the-best-out-of-georgia/

Todd Gold ‏@TGold_PG  - 2015 RHP/OF Kyle Molnar (Aliso Viejo, CA) topped at 92 & added promising SL

9-9-13 – Top 10 Far West League Prospects - 2. David Hearne, rhp, Redding (So., Notre Dame) - Hearne made nine starts and 21 appearances for the Irish in the spring, going 1-2, 4.70 with 36 strikeouts and 14 walks in 44 innings as a true freshman. He’s a 6-foot-4, 195-pounder who stood out for his advanced feel of the strike zone, posting a 33-5 strikeout-walk ratio in 29 innings. Hearne’s fastball ranges from 89-93 mph with decent life, and he pairs it with a hard 76-78 mph curveball. He wasn’t a big name coming out of Providence Catholic (Ill.) High, but he has turned into a very good prospect with first-day draft potential in 2015, according to one scout. http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/far-west-league-top-10-prospects/

9-10-13 – Top Arms in 2013 Cape Cod League - Kyle Funkhouser 6-3/205, Chatham Anglers 13 IP, 21 K, 4.15 ERA: FB 91-95 CB 79-81 SL 82-83 CH 86-87 -  He has “wow” stuff, and the 1.6 K/9 should speak for itself. Kyle can attack hitters anyway he wants. With his four pitch mix, I am shocked that he wasn’t in a starting rotation this summer. Louisville should give him a chance to work into games, and see how he develops. I think he is strong enough and has the raw stuff to succeed as a starter. http://bullpenbanter.com/2013-all-cape-team-pitchers/

8/15/13

Draft 15 – Tyler Wyatt, Devon Roedahl, Austin Sizemore, Jeremy Eierman, Kyle Molnar

draft 2015 - tyler wyatt

Todd Gold ‏@TGold_PG 5-27-13 - Power hitting 2015 IF Tyler Wyatt (Peoria, AZ) K'd 2 in 3 up/3 down IP of relief sitting 88-90, touched 91, 12-6 CB w depth @ 74.

Jheremy Brown ‏@JBrownPG  - 2015 RHP Devon Roedahl (Beaumont, TX) pretty much sitting 90 mph in first inning, topping 92 twice and striking out the side #PGTourney

7-14-13 - A few top players we are tracking at the PW Finals in Port St. Lucie, FL thus far that are 2014 grads or YOUNGER.  Still plenty more to come! - (8) Austin Sizemore (2015, SS) Hitmen Baseball - Smooth fluid INF with good footwork and above average arm. Bat has potential to come around, has decent hand speed. http://prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=440

7-16-13 - Jeremy Eierman is a 6-foot, 195-pound middle infielder who has developed into a top prospect in Missouri. Currently ranked No. 2 in the Class of 2015, his skills in the field are advanced for a player of his age. Defensively, Eierman showed fundamental fielding mechanics and natural instincts to the ball. He consistently fields the ball out in from with soft hands, quick feet and a clean exchange.  Offensively, Eierman has a wide stance with good balance and a level swing. He was able to square up the ball and generates power with a short, compact swing and gap-to-gap power. Eierman also has some speed, with a top 60 time of  6.67. Eierman follows the footsteps of his Johnny, the 2011 Missouri Player of the Year and third round pick of the Rays, as the second Eierman to be a top ranked player in his class. http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/MO/Midwest-Future-Games-Profile-Jeremy-Eierman-from-Warsaw-HS-2073985416#.UeVJK4YCZ7w.twitter

7-18-13 - Kyle Molnar a 2015 RHP from Aliso Viejo High School in Aliso Viejo, California. He’s already 6’2 175 LBs and gets his fasball in the low 90′s with more to be expected. The breaking ball looked good when he threw it correctly but as to be expected he doesn’t throw it a ton at the moment. It has solid potential though, and as he gets older I expect he will refine it. Most experts already consider him a top-10 talent if not top-5 on the high school side and I tend to agree with that assessment at the moment. High level talent already with plenty of projection it’s going to be fun to watch him as time rolls on. http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/2013/07/18/kyle-molnar-2015-gem/
