2013 Draft-Notes - Zack Borsa, Trey Masek, Robert Kaminsky, Jonah Wesley

Zack Borsa, LHP/OF, McDowell HS (PA), Class of 2013 - 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect. Registered a 7.09 60-yard dash. In the outfield, he shows athletic actions. Reaches a top velocity of 83 mph with long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. At the plate, the left-handed hitter starts with an open stance. Tends to bar his arm in his load. Takes a flat path to the ball. He is a contact/line drive type hitter. On the mound, he uses quick arm speed through a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sits 78-81 mph. Shows good command of a 65 mph curveball. Shows late 1/7 break with good depth. Changeup is thrown near fastball arm speed, but lacks consistent command at 63-66 mph. http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/OH/Player-Analysis-from-Ohio-Top-Prospect-Showcase-on-717-8621950347#.UBVav60DlGI.twitter

Trey Masek, RHP, Falmouth Commodores (Texas Tech) – RH with a high leg kick and a pause over the rubber. Slightly undersized at 6’1″. FB 90-93 early… mostly straight but worked the bottom of the zone well.  High 3/4 and all his pitches are north-south. Shook off his catcher a lot. Also mixes in a CB and SL of varying effectiveness, cutter and a CU that was very promising in flashes. http://bullpenbanter.com/cape-cod-league-observations-week-6/

There are still two days to go, but it’s hard to imagine that anyone will have a better showing here than LHP Robert Kaminsky. The southpaw from New Jersey (St. Joe’s) threw three outstanding innings, hitless innings to be precise. While this Draft class may not have any of those huge power arms that blow you away, there’s no question Kaminsky knows how to pitch - http://minors.mlblogs.com/2012/08/03/day-2-at-the-east-coast-pro-showcase/

Jonah Wesely - Alright everyone, I'm leaving tomorrow to So Cal for the rest of the summer. Im gunna pitch in the Area Code Games and represent the Oakland A's in Long beach on the 5th. After that I'm heading to San Diego for the All American Festivities and then on the 12th I'll be pitching in the PG High school baseball All American Game on National Tv. I have never been this nervous in my life and ive been dreaming about this since freshman year. I'll be back the 3rd day of school! Thanks everyone for the support!

USC LHP Stephen Tarpley transferred to Scottsdale CC

Connor Glassey -  Impressive first inning for KY LHP Hunter Green. Struck out the side. 86-88, quiet delivery, lots of strikes, 74-76 CB…

David Rawnsley - RHP Robert Tyler is really good....92-94 in first, nice CH, ball jumps on hitters fast… 1B Pete Alonso with 2B off 405' sign in CF, has raised his draft stock plenty this summer with his power against good pitching… Florida commit - best stuff I've seen from LHP Sean Brady this summer, 90 FB/77 CB/81 Chg, pitched to spots, easy inning…

2013 Draft-Notes - Tavin Howard, Cory Blessing, Brandon Trinkwon, Robert Kaminsky, Konner Wade

Tavin Howard, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect from Briggs High School in Columbus, is an athletic prospect with plenty of raw tools. In June, Howard ran a 6.7 60-yard dash and threw from the mid 80’s in the outfield. The right-handed hitting outfielder is a gap-to-gap hitter with plenty of pop in his bat. This past summer, Howard played for the Ohio Elite. PRB

Cory Blessing, RHP, Mayfield HS, Class of 2013 - 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. Uses a high ¾ to over the top arm slot. Shows quick arm speed and long back arm action. Delivery requires some effort. Fastball sits 82-84 mph with some arm side run. His curveball sits 71-74 mph with 11/5 break, but lacks good depth. His changeup stays between 70-72 mph and is thrown near fastball arm speed while showing arm side run. PRB

Brandon Trinkwon, SS, Hyannis Harbor Hawks (UC Santa Barbara) – Needs to add strength physically. Squaring the ball up well. Apparently he scuffled early… then switched to a lighter bat and has been raking since. Very good athlete with quick hands and good footwork in the infield. BB

Conor Glassey -  LHP Trey Ball around the zone a little bit in first inning. Two hits (both cheap), two walks. 87-89 with a 73-76 CB… Wilson High (West Lawn, Pa.) RHP Andy Ravel is interesting. 6-1/175 but broad shoulders & athletic. 86-87 FB and flashed 4-pitch mix.. In his first two innings, NJ LHP Rob Kaminsky has been mostly 88-90, but reached back for a few 93s & his secondary stuff was on point

Jonathan Mayo‏-  Robert Kominsky at East Coast: 2 IP, 6 K; 3 with his changeup, 2 with his fastball (up to 93 mph), one with his curve

Matt Garrioch‏ -  Anyone who follows prospects needs to know that name: Robert Kaminsky, LHP, 2013

Todd Gold‏ -  Between PGNational, 17uWWBA & EastCoastPro , 2013 LHP Robert Kaminsky has 14 K, 2 BB, 0 H over 4 2/3 (scoreless) innings

2013 Draft-Notes – Kevin Davis, Ryne Stanek, Jeremy Martinez, Robert Kaminsky, Cavan Biggio

Nathan Rode – Arkansas righthander Ryne Stanek was one of the bigger highlights of the night. He pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four. The only trouble he found was in the second inning when he allowed a leadoff single, got two outs and then loaded the bases with a walk and fielder's choice. But he got Kentucky outfielder Austin Cousino to fly out to end the inning. He cruised through the third inning and was taken out in the fourth with two outs after walking a batter. He had thrown 59 pitches.
Player:  Kevin Davis   Position:  RHP   School:  T.R. Daivs (AL)   Date of Birth:  11/24/1994   Height/Weight:  6’1/185   Bats/Throws:  R/R   2013 Class:  Senior Scouting Report:  Righthander Kevin Davis is the top prospect from Alabama.  While he lacks a large frame, he has a big arm and could potentially move very high on draft boards. BLF
It’s unclear if Jeremy Martinez really needs any help, especially when it has to do with USA Baseball events. He went 7-for-13 at the USA Baseball complex in Cary (where Game 3 will be held) during the NHSI. He went 4-for-10 during the Tournament of Stars, with three hits — one a walk-off homer — coming in one game. He cooled off to a 1-for-7 during the Red vs. Blue “intrasquad” games the 18U hopefuls played before the Classic. But considering he hit .387 for Team USA as the 18U’s primary catcher last year, it’s may seem like a safe bet he’ll get the chance to play again, this time in South Korea for the IBAF Junior World Championships in September.                                               PN

RHP Josh Dezse leads the Bourne Braves (3-9) to 8-7 victory over Brewster (5-8)
RHP Jordan Sheffield (TN) touched 95 mph today.
