Gnats: lose 5-3
Here in Savannah, Gnats ace Jeffrey Kaplan (4-1, 1.05) gave up an unearned run in the first inning on a throwing error by C Kai Gronauer, and a wild pitch by Kaplan.
The Gnats tied it up in the bottom of the 2nd, when PH Luis Alen singles in Jean Luc Blaquiere. Alen pinched hit for Gronauer, who was pulled for an undetermined injury.
The wheels came off in the third inning when Charleston scored three more runs off of Kaplan.
This was easily Kaplan’s worst outing, giving up three earned runs in 4.0 IP (1.46).
RP Jimmy Johnson aced the last inning, lowering his ERA to 0.68.
