Portland beat Binghamton, 3-2.
The two best pitchers on the B-Mets and Portland squared off Tuesday night. Tobi Stoner went into the game with a 2.49 ERA, in four starts, while the sea Dogs threw up their ace, Junichi Tazawa (5-3, 2.82). As advertised, it started out as a gem, with both pitchers throwing four innings of no-hit ball.
Lucas Duda took away the Portland no-hitter, when he went yard in the 5th.
Stoner broke down in the 6th, giving up three earned runs on three hits and a walk.
The B-Mets got one back in the 7th, when Josh Thole singled, Duda doubled, and OF D.J. Wabick sacrificed Thole in.
Stoner went 6.2 IP, gave up 3 ER. His ERA went to 2.81.
