Buffalo 5, Louisville 4

The Bisons showed a flare for the dramatic for the second time in three nights with a 5-4 walk-off victory over the Louisville Bats, on Tuesday night from Coca-Cola Field.

The Herd plated two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning -including the game-winner on a wild pitch- to storm back for their sixth win on their completed eight-game homestand.

Buffalo already showed their ability to win a game in their last at-bat as they scored four runs in the bottom of the 10th inning on Sunday to beat the Bats, 6-4. Two days later, the Herd used dramatics to re-capture first place in the International League North division.

After falling behind 4-3 in the top of the ninth, the Bisons came roaring back in the bottom half of the inning. Chris Carter started the rally as he hit the first pitch from Louisville closer Jon Adkins into left field. Fernando Martinez followed with a broken-bat liner into right and Ruben Tejada loaded the bases with yet another single.

That brought up Bisons 2009 MVP Jesus Feliciano who lined a pitch right back up the middle and off of Adkins' glove. The pitcher then kicked the ball away from his glove, allowing the tying run to score. Then with Jason Pridie at the plate, Adkins uncorked a wild pitch to allow Martinez to race home with the game-winning run.

R.A. Dickey started for Buffalo and worked eight innings. He allowed two runs on six hit and struck out seven, but did not earn a decision.

Dickey did not skip a beat coming off of his complete game one-hitter in which he retired a Bisons' record 27 straight batters. After setting down the first six batters of the game out, the knuckleballer fanned Todd Frazier to lead off the third. However, the Bats' left fielder reached base on a passed ball, ending Dickey's streak at 33 straight batters retired.

Following a league-wide off day on Wednesday, the Herd will leave for an eight-game roadtrip to Indianapolis and Louisville.

BISONS NOTES:After Tuesday night's performance, Dickey has not issued a walk in 118 batters. The last time he walked a batter was in the first inning on April 19 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...Tuesday's win was the Bisons third walk-off victory of the year, they had five in all of 2009...The Bisons are now 11-5 against teams that made the playoffs a season ago (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Louisville, Durham).
