Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that Ian Desmond rejected an offer from the Nationals of a multi-year contract extension worth a reported $90 million.
The offer was believed to be for up to seven years, which would have covered the last two years of Desmond's arbitration and five years on the open market. While it's unknown why he turned down the offer, Heyman notes that he could be seeking something closer to the eight-year $120 million that Elvis Andrus received from the Rangers. Mar 23 - 10:03 PM

The money is insane, Mack. I always think of Koufax and Drysdale fighting - and failing to get - don't remember the $$ exactly - $300K combined for the following year. And to see guys like this turn down $90MM...insane.

One other thought, for your Duda Davis update. I know Met mgmt looks at quality ABs in spring. My brother told me that in one of Duda's ABs yesterday, wind robbed him of a homer. I think Duda gets nod, if healthy. Small sample size, but he seems to be hitting much better than 2013...with power.
