Northeast Delta Dental Stadium  Manchester, NH  6:35 PM

LAST GAME: Cory Vaughn led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a walk-off home run to push the Binghamton Mets to a 3-2 win over the Altoona Curve on Thursday night at NYSEG Stadium. Vaughn’s blast, his second of the season, secured the B-Mets’ sixth series win of the year and capped a 5-2 homestand. Vaughn sent Quinton Miller’s second pitch of the inning deep over the left-field wall for Binghamton’s second walk-off win of the year. Cody Satterwhite escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and worked around two singles in the ninth to earn the win. Darin Gorski allowed one run over six innings in the no-decision. Brian Burgamy also chipped in with a solo homer in the first.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Matt Bowman makes his sixth start of the season and second against the Fisher Cats. Bowman is winless in his last two game after going 3-for-3 in wins to start the season. The righty comes off a no-decision against the Harrisburg Senators on May 9. He allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits over six innings and was taken off the hook from a loss thanks to Binghamton’s two-run eighth inning. Bowman dazzled against New Hampshire on April 17, striking out a career-high 11 batters over seven shutout innings in a win. Bowman was selected in the 12th round of the 2012 Draft by the Mets out of Princeton University.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: RHP Scott Copeland takes the mound for his ninth appearance and first start since April 26. Copeland’s last two appearances have come in relief of Major League rehabber Casey Janssen. The righty last pitched against the Portland Sea Dogs on May 10, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits over 5.2 innings in a no-decision. In three games (two starts) against the B-Mets in 2014, he has gone 1-2 with a 1.15 ERA. Copeland most recently tossed eight shutout innings against Binghamton on May 5. Originally a Baltimore Orioles farmhand, Copeland signed with the Blue Jays as a Minor League free agent in July 2012.

WALK-OFF WINNERS: Binghamton enjoyed their second walk-off win of the season with Cory Vaughn’s blast on Thursday night. It was the first walk-off homer for the B-Mets since Blake Forsythe went deep in a 3-2 win over the Bowie Baysox on August 19, 2013. It was Vaughn’s first walk-off hit as a Binghamton Met.

BOUNCE-BACK HOMESTAND: After suffering through a four-game losing streak that pushed them back to .500 (14-14), the B-Mets have won six of their last eight games, improving to 20-16. The stretch includes a 5-2 homestand. Binghamton is just 2.5 games out of first place.

WE’RE BAAACK: The B-Mets make their second straight visit to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium to take on the Fisher Cats. It is their third and final visit to Manchester in 2014.

GETTING COMFORTABLE: In seven games at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in 2014, the B-Mets have gone 4-3 and hit .268 as team. They have racked up 13 doubles, launched 10 home runs and scored an average of 5.1 runs per game.

AGAINST NEW HAMPSHIRE: The B-Mets are hitting .274 as a team versus the Fisher Cats. Matt Reynolds leads the way with a .529 (18-for-34) mark. Matt Clark has three home runs in 10 games, all at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Binghamton’s pitching staff has compiled a 2.69 staff ERA.

SCOUTING THE FISHER CATS: New Hampshire has dropped four straight games and lost 11 of their last 14 contests.

In Delta Dental Stadium, you can file a claim for reimbursement if you have coverage. Dentists fill cavities in the outfield before the game, which makes the field safe to play there, and the stadium juxtaposes the Root Canal. Which is right near Terry Collins' Bridge. Terry has had all his wisdom teeth pulled I hear, which is one reason Lagares is not starting tonite. Barry Bonds has hit a few long ones into the Canal in his day. Happy Friday, everyone, and play ball! Watching the Flushing Mets is less painful when on novacaine by the way.
