LAST GAME: The Binghamton Mets withstood a late rally from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and held to earn a 6-5 win on Saturday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Travis Taijeron doubled twice and Kevin Plawecki drove in two runs in Binghamton’s fourth straight win. Trailing by four, the Fisher Cats plated three runs in the seventh inning. John Church allowed two inherited runners to score before putting a lid on New Hampshire’s rally. Cody Satterwhite tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn his first save of the season. Rainy Lara matched a season-high with seven strikeouts in his fourth win. Matt Boyd allowed three runs over five innings in the loss.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Tyler Pill makes his seventh start of the season and third against the Fisher Cats. Pill earned his first win of the season against the Harrisburg Senators on Sunday, May 11. He struck out a season-best seven over 5.2 scoreless innings to end a five-game losing streak. In two starts against the Fisher Cats, Pill has gone 0-2 with a 7.45 ERA. Pill has compiled a 1.15 ERA (2 ER in 15.2 IP) in his last two starts after surrendering 15 earned runs in his first 14.0 innings of the season. He was selected in the 4th round in 2011 out of Cal State Fullerton.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: RHP Casey Lawrence makes his seventh start of the season and fourth appearance this season against the B-Mets. Lawrence has lost each of his last three starts, receiving just four total runs of offensive support. He allowed three runs over 7.1 innings in his last start versus the Reading Fightin Phils on Monday, May 12. In three games (two starts) versus Binghamton, Lawrence has gone 1-1 with a 2.95 ERA. The B-Mets have hit .279 against the righty. Lawrence was signed as a non-drafted free agent in June 2010 out of Albright College.

STARTING TO CLICK: Since suffering through a four-game losing streak that dropped them to 14-14, the B-Mets have won eight of their last ten games, including four straight coming into today’s game. Binghamton’s longest winning streak of the season is five games.

MAY IS THE MONTH: B-Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki is hitting .413 (19-for-46) over 12 games in the month of May with five doubles, a home run, 11 RBI and seven multiple-hit games. He has raised his batting average by 74 percentage points during the stretch.

DOUBLING UP: Travis Taijeron ripped a pair of doubles on Saturday night, raising his team-leading total to ten. Taijeron has collected a double in each of his last four games. Of his 17 hits this season, 10 have been doubles and two have been home runs.

IT’S BEEN A WHILE: B-Mets reliever Cody Satterwhite worked a perfect ninth inning on Saturday to earn his first save of the season. It was Satterwhite’s first save in affiliate ball since July 23, 2011 when he was pitching for the GCL Tigers.

PLENTY OF K’S: Rainy Lara matched a season-high with seven strikeouts on Saturday. In the last seven games, B-Mets starters have struck out seven or more five times, including Matt Bowman’s 12-strikeout performance on Friday night. B-Met starters are averaging 7.6 strikeouts per start during the stretch.

BURGAMY SNAPS OUT OF IT: Brian Burgamy collected his 20th RBI of the season with a single off Matt Boyd in the third inning on Saturday night. The hit snapped an 0-for-15 slump for Burgamy against left-handed pitchers. It was also his 12th RBI of the season at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
