Wednesday night at Citi Field, Jacob deGrom only gave up 4 hits ,but 3 of them where home runs at the Dodgers take their 2nd straight from the Mets winning 4-3. In the top of the 2nd the Dodgers took a 1-0 lead on a long home run by Adrian Gonzalez (12) his 2nd in two nights. In the 6th Yasiel Puig and Hanley Ramirez hit back to back shots to make it 3 zip. For Puig #10, for Ramirez #7. In the bottom of the 6th the Mets made it a one run game when Eric Campbell clubbed his first major league homer scoring Curtis Granderson ahead of him to bring the Mets to within one. The Dodgers scored their 4th run in the top of the 8th then Wilmer Flores and Daniel Murphy had some confusion on who was to cover on a comebacker that might have been an inning ending double play that allowed Chone Figgins to score on a Ramirez grounder. Lagares tripled in the bottom of the 9th and scored on a ground out by Murph as the Mets fall short.. deGrom went 6 he allowed 4 hits 3 runs (all earned) he walked 3 and struck out 4. He falls to 0-2. Hyun-Jin Ryu went 6 and struck out 9 getting the win. He improves to 4-2. The Mets had their chances as they collected 13 hits on the night. Flores, Lagares and David Wright each had 3 hits. With the loss the Mets fall to 5 games under .500 for the first time this year at 20-25. They are 9-14 at home. Thursday night the Mets will try to grab the final game of the series. Jonathon Niese (2-3 2.54) goes for the Mets. Zach Greinke (7-1 2.03) goes for LA.
