16- Arizona Diamondbacks- RHP Touki Toussaint- Coral Springs HS (FL)
My favorite player in the draft. I absolutely love this kid and think he could end up being the best playing in the draft. Absolutely nasty fastball/curve combination. He has control issues but I'm not worried about them. D-Backs get a steal.
17- Kansas City Royals- LHP Brandon Finnegan- TCU
Great arm on this southpaw and could end up being a reliever. Either way, he should be very good.
18- Washington Nationals- RHP Erik Fedde- UNLV
The Nationals do it again. They drafted a hurt Anthony Rendon and got a steal a few years ago, then Lucas Giolito in 2012 and got a steal. Both look to be healthy and highway robbery for the Nats. They take a pitcher currently rehabbing from recent Tommy John surgery but looked like a potential top 10 pick pre-injury. Time will tell if drafting all of these injured players works for the Nationals, but early returns are very good.
19- Cincinnati Reds- RHP Nick Howard- University of Virginia
The pundits on the MLB network are giving a lot of love to this guy. He climbed boards late and I like the fastball but I think this is a bit of a reach here...especially for a guy who could be a reliever soon. I like Burdi and a lot of high schoolers better here. Now for the Rays...
20- Tampa Bay Rays- Casey Gillapsie- 1B- Wichita State
Not what I've come to expect from the Rays but a great hitter who had a great season.
