Picks #11-15

Max Pentecost, the best catcher in the draft by a wide margin, goes #11 to the Blue Jays
11- Toronto Blue Jays- Max Pentecost- C- Kennessaw St. University

I thought the Blue Jays should have gone Newcomb here and gotten a 1-2 punch of Hoffman and Newcomb which would be nasty but the Blue Jays do need a catcher and Pentecost should be quick to the bigs. Jays get a nice battery here in the first round.

12- Milwaukee Brewers- Kodi Medeiros- Hilo (Hawaii) High School

This is by far my favorite pick of the draft so far. I had him as a reach for the Giants a few picks later but the Brewers don't even give them that chance. Very VERY nice pick here. I really like this kid.

13- San Diego Padres- Trea Turner- SS- NC State

Padres get a dynamic middle infielder with a high ceiling. Some question the bat. I don't.

14- Anaheim Angels- Tyler Beede- Vanderbilt

Beede is a nice pick here for a system that really needs a jolt. Beede, at one point, was a #1 overall potential pick but some questioned the control. He finished the season very well and projects as a #2 starter.

15- San Francisco Giants- Sean Newcomb- Hartford University

I am surprised he fell this far and the Giants get yet another incredible pitcher for the near future.
