Travis d’Arnaud hit a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 7th
inning. The Mets beat the Braves Wednesday night at Citi Field 4-1. The Mets took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the
first on an RBI single by Lucas Duda. Dillon
Gee started for the Mets. In his first outing off the disabled list he was
brilliant. He went 7 innings allowing just 6 hits 1 run (earned) walking 1 and
striking out 4. The Braves tied the game off Gee in the top of the 6th
on an RBI double by B.J. Upton. But that’s
all the Braves got off the Gee and the Mets. The Mets scored 3 times in the bottom
of the 7th on a sac fly by Kirk Nieuwenhuis and then the 2 run
dinger by d’Arnaud his 6th on
the year and 3rd since returning from Las Vegas. Ervin Santana started for the Braves and took
the loss, Gee gets the win improving to 4-1. Jenrry Mejia pitched the 9th
for the 9th save on the year. The Braves out hit the Mets 8 to 6,
Daniel Murphy led the way for the Mets with a pair of hits. The Mets have taken
the first 3 games of this series with the Braves and have now won four in a row
for the first time in nearly a year. The Mets are now .500 at home standing at 22-22. Overall they are now 42-49. Thursday
night the Mets go for the sweep of the series. Bartolo Colon (8-7 4.04) goes for the Mets, Aaron Harang
(8-6 3.67) goes for Atlanta.
