Tarpley 7 runs allowed in one AAA inning? OMG.

Steals are great - do the St Lucie Mets have more steals in 3 games than the Mets do in 26?

Taijuan Walker has been great...period.

Lindor has a .297 OBP - not terrible. Now it is time for extra base hits and RBIs.

There should be a special wing in the Hall of Fame for guys like Ways, Aaron and Williams. These buys are all time greats and why MLB doesn’t promote them to today’s fan is a shame.

I saw the box score last night Tom on this site and my eyes just bugged. Can’t blame Vegas for these numbers. If Tarpley wasn’t lefty, you never would have heard of him.

Tom - Mets have 4 steals - 2 from Nimmo and 2 from Pillar.

Gus - I agree. The Hall has changed a lot over the years. Maybe this is a sign of old age but I liked it better when I was a kid. When I was a kid, I could spend all day there and not even see half the stuff. Now, I am in and out in a couple of hours. Back in the day, they had a special section for Babe Ruth - don't think they still have that. They need a special section for Babe, Mays, Aaron, Cobb, Cy Young (511 wins), Williams - all the top 20 players.

Great Game Yesterday

A formidable opponent with a great history organizationally behind them. Mets getting nine hits, give back two. Not just good but rather a stellar nine hit offensive performance. Singles. Nothing but singles. I ,loved it. Getting back to the basics. Retro hits. Excellent. And they won easily against a pretty darn good team too. Woe.

Taijuan Walker

Just love his style. Very in control. Very aggressive. Hasn't even reached his peak level yet, and that is scary for opponent teams. Holy Macaroni! He's got it.

Okay

Here's where we are. Team is on track. Solid game performance both sides of the ball. Very encouarging. So what's next?

To me, that fifth starter thing.

In summation here, Seth Lugo is on 10 day list now. But he'll need some time at this getting ready again. Jeurys Familia is very interesting to me right now, because he has his old starter bod back and is doing quite well with it thus far. Could he be stretched out for like five innings? I think so.

Then there is Robert Gsellman. My question is simply this one, "Robert, how hungry are you right now for something like this sir?" Personally, I think he could do this and well. I have seen him "on", and it is good.

Thomas Szapucki, he probably will need some time at Syracuse to refine, get ready, and get those downtime kinks all shaken out. But he's a lefty with some very good organizational notice I have noticed. His future looks very bright here.

Okay

That's what I see.

But the five slot is really important right now.

I want to express now, an idea I that have been toying with for awhile. Franklyn Kilome. I watched a lot of his video, here and with Philly. My take from that opinion was Franklyn has something that I personally think could be very useful here. Something special, and not everyday. But he may need that special person to tutor him, and bring him the rest of the way so to speak. Someone who may have been sensational as a starting pitcher. Someone who can study Franklyn's mechanics and perhaps make very useful suggestions to him that bring Franklyn here.

Who does Franklyn remind me of, at least a little bit with his pitch selection and mechanics?

Dwight Gooden.

Franklyn's knee raise is not as pronounced as Dwight's was, but he has that very downward breaking curve ball that is gorgeous. All I see with him is maybe a slight 2-3 mph ramp up on his fastball (it's already good and MLB level at 95 mph) that would bring it to the 98 mph range. And lastly, I think Franklyn needs more work on his change up or an entirely new third pitch added in to make him whole as a starter.

The thought of Dwight Gooden working with Franklyn Kilome I find beyond interesting and exciting. Just not sure if it can be arranged. Thanks for reading though. Franklyn is close.

Anon - Kilome threw 3 innings last night. We will see how he progresses in AAA. The word is that he is not yet all the way back from his 2018 surgery. Not getting regular work last year did not help. Hopefully regular work in AAA will get him back to his old form.
