Megill outstanding. Reid-Foley excellent. Bring both up.
Tom, I came here to write exactly that. I understand the 40 man roster manipulation may be tricky when everyone comes back but are we really going to cry if Drury or Mason Williams don’t clear waivers?
Gus, I hate to rush Megill, who has less than 50 innings of AA and AAA in his career. But who knows? In a pinch, he may be ready right now. Reid-Foley should not be wasted in AAA. If not for deGrom status, I would recommend Reid-F getting called up and Peterson sent down. But maybe the Mets go with Tropeano and not Megill.
True, Gus. They may try Tropeano and give Megill more time to adjust to higher competition. Foley should be up here - period.
I think we will see Reid-Foley if Castro goes on the IL. Mets have 33 games in 31 days with 3 double headers. I think Megill will get a shot in there.
John, if Megill ever has a next start like yesterday's, he could get called up quickly. Odd - Jake had 114 innings in AAA to Megill's current 9.1 innings in AAA to date. Oddly, Jake in AA in his career? 2-5, 4.80, 69 hits and 20 walks in 60 innings and just 44 Ks. Man, has he ever come a long way.
