Tom Brennan - “How Fast Was I Going, Officer?”

Officer: I pulled you over for excess velocity.

Ronny Mauricio: Huh?

Officer: I clocked you at 117.

Mauricio: That was my line drive speed, sir. I’m legally allowed to operate a bat in that fashion.

Officer: Well, I’ll let you off with a warning this time.

Ronny Mo, besides his 117 MPH bolt in his debut, also had another hit, and flashed some fine Corinthian leather.

Nice debut.

In AA, the resurgent Dom Hamel pitched 6 gem innings, fanning 11.

JT Schwartz? He had 3 more hits (and 2 more RBIs) to raise his average to .301. The Quiet Hitting Machine.

Interestingly, too, in his last 30 games, Daniel Vogelbach has averaged a HR every 10 times up, which is fine, but has no doubles in that span. Doubling David Wright he is not.

Let Ronny play 6x a week at second

Let Hamel finish at AA this season

Find someone left in player development to work with JT on pop trajectory

OK, OK we know what Vogelbach can do . Let's find him a comfortable place on the bench and play Vientos .

Good points, gents.

Could Vogelbach help a playoff team as a pinch hitter off the bench with the bases loaded? Possible waiver deal before playoff rosters are set?

D J, why not? He’ll be the next Kirk Gibson.

Unfortunately, deadline was midnight on August 31.

More and more people are noting JT. Will he be a prospect next season?

Geez,if we’re counting on Schwartz we really are bad.

Don’t be so quick to discount JT. He seems to have turned a corner. If Alonso is move he could get a shot.
