Thursday was "musical chairs" day at Clover.
Mike Tauchman played left, Jorge Polanco is finally on that base that's strange to him, and Brett Baty was in right.
Still no signs of Kodai Senga or Sean Manaea.
The right names started strong in the first. Tauchman doubled, was brought home on a Bichette single, followed by a 2-run bomb by Baty. You want these three guys to have big springs then let the suits figure out what to do with them.
Mets starter, Justin Hagenman, didn't want to be outdone by the Nats starter so he gave up two. Justin's spring ERA at that point: 6.14.
Hagerman was done after three (5.40) and some in my circle were hoping for a transfer (at best) to Syracuse soon.
The scrubs from both teams took over and the Nats eventually won, 7-4.
The Mets offense was five hits, two by Bichette.
It's hard to get excited about this time into spring training. The pitchers used here were not slated to make the 26.
Still early signs of life came from Bichette and Baty
Oh.
Zero errors.

Tauchman just looks like a hitter up there. This is going to be such a smart pick-up.
I don't think there is anyone on the Mets that has a more beautiful swing than Baty.
A beauty yesterday to the back of the bullpen.
Very solid stats the past few years for the Tok Man.
The guy who got pounded for the Mets yesterday won’t be on the 26. He doesn’t deserve to be in the top 46.
Manaea goes tonight. Why couldn't he go yesterday and get the real top 7 starters get the work in?
Also...
Potentially 20-25 HR DH candidate
Tonight's game is a night game so this daily thingy will be in the 6am post's comments
Nice daily thingy.
Mrs. Tom says that about you
Only about 1000 more innings before Polanco has seen enough there for us to be comfortable.
I will never be comfortable with him on that bag
