Kodai Senga made Coors his home tonight
Mack –
It’s
great to have a rotation this successful, but, all great rotations have, at
least, one great ace. The Mets is Senga.
Last
night, he produced an overall 37.9% whiff rate and a low 6.7% barrel %. In
laments terms, that’s 37.9% of the time a batter swung he came up with goose
eggs and only 6.7% on the time a batter laid some lumber on the ball. Now you
know why the word now uses analytical terms.
As usual, the ghost dominated here. An
increase to 42.4% whiff rate and 0.0% barrel %.
It’s
nice to know a team can throw out a guy 20% of the time that will put
themselves in play for a win. Now all the Mets have to do is work on their RISP
average.

Soto’s luck started to improve last night. Imagine if he can get that differential to zero by year’s end? We can only hope.
Senga is sengasational. Why more pitchers don’t try to copy him is beyond me.
Who ya gonna call....
I wasn't so sure Senga could be the ace, but he is proving me wrong with that fantastic ERA. He has also shown resilience when the start doesn't go as planned. My only concern is that he's not an every 5 days guy - needs more rest. The rest of the staff is making up for that right now.
Suarez the Dback 3B would be a good add. He could bat fifth and DHor play third.
Great job Mack! First, you motivated Mauricio to field better. Then tonight, you inspired him to launch a 3rd decker!
Roy, what i liked most about Mauricio is he does not look like a guy hoping to not struggle. He looks like a veteran in the dugout fitting right in, confident, relaxed, zero "deer in headlight" look. I think he will do well because of that. His last AAA HR, BTW, looked like last night's rocket launcher shot. He seems to have Strawberry type power.
