My next top performer from the 2010 summer season is Richie Mirowski of the SLO Rattlers. Richie is currently a 6-2/180 pound RHP from Oklahoma Baptist University. Richie hails from Redwood City, CA and he attended Juniperro Serra High School. He played his JUCO ball at Cuesta College. This past Spring, Richie went 3-1, and had a great era of 2.14 in 43 innings pitched. He also fanned 55 batters during the season. Richie spent the summer of 2009 pitching for the SLO Rattlers, where he was an All-Star. - http://www.collegesummerbaseball.net/2011/01/top-performers-from-2010-rtchie.html
Anthony Rendon’s junior campaign - He’s the most dynamic college position player since Pedro Alvarez manned third base for Vanderbilt. It just so happens Rendon also is a third baseman. Rice coach Wayne Graham calls Rendon arguably the best offensive player he has ever coached, which should raise eyebrows considering Lance Berkman and other stars played at Rice. Rendon was simply sensational his first two seasons with the Owls, hitting .388 and .394, respectively in 2009 and ’10. He also combined for 46 homers and 157 RBIs in the two seasons. Rendon is expected to improve even more as a junior. He also is expected to be the top college player taken in the ’11 MLB draft. Keep an eye on one of the best hitters in the sport’s history - http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/baseball/news;_ylt=AjUzbGJEOKj6sMSED49lChkMwLYF?slug=kr-nationalstorylines011011

We continue the list today with number 15 in our countdown with Arizona State junior infielder Zack MacPhee. He is a native of Phoenix, Arizona, where he attended Sandra Day O’Connor High School. As a junior in high school, he hit .455 with 33 RBI and 21 stolen bases. He followed that up in his senior season by hitting .433, driving in 35 runs and stealing 23 bases. In both seasons, he was named first-team all-conference while being a preseason All-American in 2008. He was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 22nd round of the 2008 MLB Draft but decided to head to Arizona State. - http://www.collegebaseballdaily.com/
Ricky Oropesa – USC - Another former Aflac All-American, Oropesa has played a little third base in his career, and has also pitched, but his future lies at first base. He has a big, hulking frame and physically is reminiscent to another former Aflac All-American and current San Francisco Giants farmhand, Chris Dominguez. Both big-time power prospects, Oropesa bats from the left-side of the plate with a big swing and aggressive approach. After hitting 20 home runs as a sophomore and adding another seven on the Cape last summer, he could be poised to put up huge numbers for the Trojans this spring. - http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=5155
