
Wednesday afternoon in Atlanta, behind Dillon Gee, the Mets snapped their 3 game losing streak, the Mets beat the Braves 5-2. The Mets gave Gee a cushion right away scoring 2 runs in the 1
st on a 2 run homer by Andrew Brown, his 7
th, and 3 runs in the 3
rd off rookie Kameron Loe highlighted by Lucas Duda’s 13
th homer, a solo shot. After that it was all Gee. Gee went 7 innings allowed just 4 hits, 1 run (earned) he walked 1 and struck out 4. Vic Black pitched the 8
th and gave up the first run of his Met career when Freddie Freeman homered against him (#19). La Troy Hawkins pitched the 9
th for his 7
th save on the year. Gee improves to 11-9 with the win as his era drops to 3.53. Loe takes the loss he falls to 0-2. The Mets pounded out 12 hits on the afternoon. Duda led the way with 3 hits, Daniel Murphy and Justin Turner added 2 hits apiece. The Mets are now 63-75 on the season and 35-37 on the road. Thursday is an off day. Friday night the Mets are in Cleveland for a weekend series against the Tribe. Zach Wheeler (7-3 3.36) goes for the Mets, former Met prospect Scott Kazmir (7-7 4.36) goes for the Mets.
