Blast From The Past - 2010 Projection at First base

Ike Davis: projected AAA - we all know about Davis, who will “start” the season in Buffalo. Trust me, if Murphy stumbles and Ike gets off to a hot start, he’s out of Buffalo.

Stefan Welch: projected AA – Welsh started 2009 in Savannah, was bumped to Savannah when he couldn’t get any play time with the Sand Gnats, and played well (.278) for Lucy. He’s the obvious choice for Binghamton, or his he, now that Marshall Welsh comes aboard?

Marshall Hubbard: projected AA - Hubbard is a Rule V pickup and will battle the other Welsh guy in spring training. Hey Mets… wanna save some money? Just give them both the same number in camp. Don’t look for Marshall to be cut. The Mets will double up in Binghamton and Welsh will go to Buffalo as soon as Ike gets the one way ticket.

Jeff Flagg projected A+ - the 6-6, 246 pound Flagg sure looks good with a bat in his hand. He hit .301 at Kingsport and will most probably jump all the way to Lucy. Let’s hope we have another one here.

Sam Honeck projected A - Honeck hit .250 (with little power) at Brooklyn and is projected to play in Savannah in April.

Alexander Sanchez ??? - hit .372 for the DSL Mets… should earn him a trip stateside somewhere

Jeyckol De Leon ??? - another DSL first basemen, De Leon also earned a trip north, hitting .294, with an .798 OPS.

Eric Campbell ??? - hit .248 in Savannah and may be the last man out before cut down day

Eddie Lora ??? - Lora is the other guy in the Billy Wagner trade. Hit only .222 after a stellar 2008 season

Marinus Vernooj ??? - another one on the bubble

Travis Orga ??? - ditto

Ike was an enigma, all right
