Vicente steals home?! How cool is that! Who does that anymore? Lupo is on fire. Great to see it.
Talk about on fire, Walter Rasquin is hitting .500 in his last 10 games and 15-22 in his last 5 games, which is scorching, sizzling hot.
Verrett pitches well enough to win in a rare CG loss.
Eudor Garcia with a big night 3-3 and looking like a nice selection if they can find him a defensive home long term.
More importantly, the mets farm system are 102 games over .500 and the highest winning % in all of minor league baseball.
The full season teams are a combined 92 games over .500, which Vegas +15, Binghamton +26, St. Lucie +13 & Savannah a whopping +38, which is astounding.
The short season teams appear to be struggling compared to the full season teams, but Brooklyn +6, Kingsport is +4 & GCL Mets are a .500 team at 25-25, which brings the short season teams to +10.
If anything, it's nice to have the teams win vs lose, but in my opinion, development and preparation for the big leagues is priority #1 in my book, which we've seen doesnt always appear to be the case.
Wow. I thought how did I miss Walter Rasquin, then saw he was DSL. Hope he does well, but I disconnected from DSL a bit after Lupo struggled so much after his DSL glory days. Interesting that you post Rasquin at the same time Lupo is undergoing his first post-DSL surge in 2 years (on base 23 times in 10 games). Maybe I need to tune back in to the DSL!!
Nah, I rarely bother except the check out a few of the international bonus babies, de Aza, Garcia, Cespedes, etc, but those #'s certainly stood out to me and worth a mention. He's listed as a 3B, but apparently catches also, so don't really have much to go on with that. Maybe he's someone that surprises us in 4-5 years, who knows with the DSL and you're right to ignore since they are just soon far away.
