I guess I must have missed something - why isn't Vientos playing? He hasn't played this week at all .. hurt?
No news yet about Vientos. Rumors abound...Mets owe Red Sox a player for Lee...and that player is due this week. We will see.
hmm . .ok .. that would surprise me a bit if that PTBNL was Vientos, i guess. I was not expecting any top 15 prospects to be that guy.
I agree, makes no sense if it was Vientos. Maybe Toffey or a lower level player.
Cheslor Cuthbert was .246/.294/.379 in 87 games for KC in 2019 and is just 28. He was not hitting in AAA this year, but he did not strike out a ton with KC - maybe he is a useful injury piece if he can reawaken the bat in Syracuse. On the other hands, the Reds just released him, so hopefully the Mets won't ge to the point where they need him.7
The way Baty is hitting in High A, it could be Vientos going. Baty looks AA ready, and Peroza (no, not Peraza, Peroza) could be High A ready.
