Anthony Gomez:

He finished fifth on the squad with a .343 average and fourth with 45 RBI. He doesn’t have much power in his bat (two career HR), and he rarely walks (eight BB in 62 games), but he also doesn’t strikeout too often, racking up only 13 K's all season. On defense, Gomez struggled, committing 19 errors, despite the fact that he was throwing to one of the best defensive first baseman in the SEC. Even so, with his strong arm and good range, he should be one of the first college shortstops off the board.
Victor Roache:

He went from seven home runs his freshman year to 30 his sophomore year. Roache has shown he can handle wood bats; he leads or is near the lead in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in at the Cape Cod League. He has outstanding bat speed and extremely quick hands. He shows very good patience at the plate. He is a decent fielder.

Kevin Gausman managed to pitch 89.2 innings for the LSU Tigers in 15 starts. With an improvement of his mechanics and change up pitch Kevin Gausman has the tools to be a top 10 pick now.
Branden Kline:

A long armed righthander, Kline has the command and stuff to be an elite level starter. He uses an overhand arm slot and has a good downward angle on his fastball. Kline’s fastball sits in the low to mid 90′s. A plus slider is his top secondary pitch. Kline’s curve and change are aslo quality pitches.

.239/.315/.391 – 3 BB/10 K – 46 AB - Lind has bounced from Missouri to Central Arizona to Vanderbilt. Alright, that’s a lie. He was draft eligible this past year, but didn’t hear his name called on the conference call. A second year in one place should do the middle infield with a strong arm and above-average hit tool some good. He was a personal favorite of mine heading into the year (15th on my preseason college shortstop list), so the pressure will really be on if he wants to get back into my good graces. That is what these guys are playing for, right? My approval? Not the fame, money, girls, and love of the game, but the respect of some nobody on the internet that they’ll never meet? Alright, good, just making sure.

He took over shortstop duties from 2011 draftee Christian Lopes, who transferred to Edison High. Williams never missed a beat, however, and had a stellar season. It was his sophomore season, however, that gave birth to the "legend of Trey Williams," as the Los Angeles Daily News called it. It all began on April 30th, in a game against Valencia's arch-rival. Williams had blistered them for five home runs in the previous two games, so with the bases loaded and a four-run lead, rival West Ranch decided to intentionally walk Williams, giving up one run instead of facing the risk of giving up four. The result of the "legend" is that Williams is now widely considered the top high school hitter available in the 2012 draft class. So much of the love for him stems from his physicality. At 6'2" and 205 pounds, he has the body of a guy who could be playing pro ball right now. His coach, Jared Snyder, had this to say about Williams: "He's just a free, caring, humble, hard-working kid, so focused with the all intangibles, and he's so good with kids, and that's what makes him so spectacular—the way he handles kids and approaches them. My 5-year-old daughter has a newspaper picture of him taped up, and my 7-year-old son idolizes him. I try to teach my son how to hit, and he says he wants Trey to show him instead. I'm dead serious." Rival coach Casey Burrill offered this: "He hit six home runs against us in three games, what would you do? You must be nuts if you think we're going to let it happen again. Trey Williams will not see a pitch from West Ranch this season. He has a chance to be the best major leaguer ever to come out of the Santa Clarita Valley. He has all five tools. He's missing nothing." Williams has a commitment to Pepperdine, but not too many guys eschew the MLB draft for Pepperdine—especially when a multi-million dollar signing bonus is calling.
Cody Poteet entered the event as one of the top 2012 draft-eligible players, and threw his fastball well, consistently hitting 91, touching 92. Once he started getting his 75-77 curveball over more effectively he looked more confident with his fastball. .350/.366/.408 – 8 BB/12 K – 7/9 SB – 260 AB - What Gomez lacks in tools, he makes up for in his ability to make a crazy amount of contact. The contact is nice, but the unimpressive tool set keeps him from being much more than a marginal pro prospect. To wit, his defense up the middle isn’t yet good enough to have anybody believing his glove will carry him, and his foot speed is average at best.
6-17-11: - http://baseballdraftreport.com/ SO OF Regan Flaherty (2012) - Never bet against a Flaherty, I always say. Actually I’ve never said that before just now, but it’s still true. The biggest problem facing Flaherty heading into next season will be finding playing time in a crowded Commodores outfield; he could see some time at first or designated hitter to get his bat in the lineup.
