OPEN THREAD: Most Loved and Most Reviled: OF

Reese Kaplan came up with a great idea for a series here.

Who was your all-time favorite at a position and who was your most reviled.

Next up... the home of Cleon Jones. Darryl Strawberry, Carlos Beltron, Mookie Wilson, Rusty Staub, Michael Conforto, and Bobby Gene Smith, among others:

OF

Outfield love for Jeff McNeil, who could also catch if you asked him to (don't ask him)

Outfield hate for Keon Broxton and Kirk Nieuwenhuis.

Our infamous Florida "rodeo rider" would top the list of most reviled with Milledge and Bonilla tied for second but Carlos Beltran would top my list of best outfielder's with Mookie and Straw in the corners.

Love Rusty but want the speed for the OF

Gary, Rusty was so slow, he went back on a deep fly one September and caught it the following April...but he sure could hit.

Mack, I have always had Kingman over Cleon in my all time Mets Outfield but taking another look at it, I agree with your choice. Cleon had 1,188 Mets Hits to Kingman's 509. Cleon also was a much better fielder. Strawberry also has to be there and Mookie is my all time favorite. Still remember him scoring from second on a double play ball to win an extra innung game against the Pirates in 1983 the year before the 80's Mets got good.

Russ Adolf did the same thing for Brooklyn on the last game of the season in 2018 and was traded to Houston in the JD Davis trade.
