Tom Brennan - Jeff McNeil is Still Jeff McNeil: Simply Smashing

Image result for picture of tennis baseline winner

You ever watch those tennis volleys, ended when the dude hits a forehand smash from the baseline on a tough ball and nails it on the baseline?

That's Jeff McNeil.  Some guys are just gifted that way.

Worries, if any, about his wrist recovery after the surgery after the bone break from the HBP, have dispersed.

He is 6 for 12 this spring, a walk and ZERO Ks.

The hand-eye coordination is there.  And he can put the batted ball on the baseline with the best of them.

He always could hit that way since he first put on a pro baseball uniform.  He just needed to add power and stir.  Voila!  Superstar!

The guy that everyone but the Mets passed over in the year he was drafted - and the Mets took their sweet time drafting him, too, but at least they finally grabbed him - absolutely amazed once he was healthy again in 2018; shrugged off naysayers in 2019 with an awesome season; and is ready to do it again in 2020.

Jeff McNeil is amazing.

I am glad he is a Met.

Now if this manager has a brain, he will play him every day in some position instead of letting salary dictate that role.

I can't imagine what this team's future would be without this guy and Pete.

I think Jeff is so good, if he stays healthy, I wonder who will have the better career - him or Pounding Pete. I'll take two Hall of Famers here.

Which McNeil do you prefer--the 1st half high BA/moderate power one, or the 2nd half lower BA/more power one?

I like 1st half Jeff.
