Good
morning.
The
Mets have gotten off to a good start this season, going 10-4 in the first two
weeks of the season.

Jake deGrom is predictable… 3-starts, 3-0, 2-ER in 20-IP. His opening
day, 12 strikeout victory over Washington was an epic start in what we all hope
will be a World Series season for our team.
Rick Portello is also undefeated… 3-starts 3-0, one shutout, 21 strikeouts
in 19 innings tossed. The only area of concern so far is his pitch count that
has caused an early exit for all his starts.
In the
pen, Dellin Betances has shined. six scoreless
innings, including a save after taking over the closer role from Edwin Diaz, who once again blew two early games to the
Nats and Phillies.

Hitting
wise, the star has been our new ‘slugger’, J.D. Davis.
He has hit .400+ ball throughout the early season, that also included a team
leading five home runs.
Catcher
Wilson Ramos came in second in homers (3), with Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil, and Amed
Rosario following with two each.
The welcomed addition to this team has been utility infielder Andres Gimenez, who surprisingly made the cut coming out of camp. He hasn't played much, but he is 4-7, with three key pinch hits.

The
game of the young season featured a 7-run comeback in the 8th inning
of the April 10th game against Milwaukee. Trailing 7-2, the inning started
with Rosario popping up to first. McNeil and Davis followed this with singles
and a walk to Alonso loaded the bases. Next up was Michael
Conforto who cleared the bases with a 3-run double. Ramos brought
Conforto home with his third home run of the season, which tied the score at
seven. Luis Guillorme, filling in for the
injured Robinson Cano, walked leading to a dramatic
2-run homer by Brandon Nimmo.
This
week is a big one… Atlanta and Seattle… and I will update the season next…
Huh?
WHAT???

That's the only way the Mets would be 10-4 -- in a simulated season.

This was not a sim game.
Just a dream...
Mets are going 109-53...best Mets team ever.
Pete - and Cespedes - will both hit 50.
It is good to dream.
