I read that ex-Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was seen out salsa dancing in a Cuban club in Garden City. This happened ‘a few weeks’ before he opted out.
So?
A lot can happen in ‘a few weeks. You can find out you are going to be a designated hitter for the remainder of the season during thse ‘few weeks’. You can miss countless times when you are at bat during that ‘few weeks’. You can be attacked by a boar during the… well, okay, that’s a stretch. Or… you could have tested positive or had loved ones around you that did,
It doesn’t matter to me.
Cespedes is in my rear view mirror and quickly fading from site. I suggest to beat reporters that they spent time on moving forward with this team rather than joining the majority of the Mets Twitter family that are stuck in the past.

We would like to welcome ex-Mets catcher, Barry Lyons, and current minor league shortstop, Jesus Suarez, to our family of readers here at Mack’s Mets.
Lyons was selected by the Mets in the 15th round of the 1982 draft, out of Delta State University, in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Lyons played seven season in the majors, five of which were with the Mets in 19896-1990. His total Mets stats line was: 545-AB, .240/.277/.341/.618.
Suarez was signed in 2019 as an international free agent and was assigned to the DSL-1 team. To date, he has not played in a game.
Please welcome Barry and Jesus to our growing family.

Steve Cohen will not be the next Mets owner.
The recent sexual harasement charges filed have cooked his goose, nut with the Wilpons, but with the League. It doesn’t matter if they are true. The accusations alone are enough to end the process.
My guess is that even the Wilpons are pissed here since Cohen has offered the most money.
Word I’m getting is the process is being sped up and the final bid could be announced by the end of this month.
But it will not be Cohen.

Welcome Barry Lyons. In light of the grand slam that Tomas Nido hit on Thursday, I was at the Mets-Giants game of 8/20/87. It was a day game, and Barry was catching in place of Gary Carter that day. He hit a grand slam to help the Mets win.

I’m holding out hope that Cohen still isn’t out of the running. From what I remember reading is that it isn’t directly an accusation against him but people in his company. So hopefully the owners will not hold that against him. I think he is our best hope to help us get over the Wilpon hump. I feel the other prospective owners are in about the same level financial wise as the current ownership group is. I would like our next owner not to be restricted by money, like I feel the JRoD group will be.

I would not have been allowed to renew mt radio station broadcast license unless one hal of my employees in the top 3 levels were at least half of the home county's population.
Example: Savannah: 40% black... a minimum of 20% of my decision makers had to be black
This rule goes back into the 1960s.
I owned radio stations in the 1980s in 2 markets... one was Fort Walton Beach, Florida where there was less than 5% blacks in Okaloosa County.
My General Manager was black.
I never saw race as a factor... just talent.
I really hope this doesn't railroad Cohen from winning the team. I feel like Arod is the one putting out these negative hit pieces on cohen. He know he cant compete with Cohen financially, so he's dragging him down in the court of public opinion to sway the other owners. If that were to happen it would be a bummer cuz,i don't believe the Arod group, nor the Harris/blitzer group have the $ to pull the mets out of the financial mess the Wilpons have put them in.
