Weight: 220 lbs

Hits/Throws: L-R

Hometown: Washington, WV

Potential impact bat at first base. Could have double plus raw power in the bat. Starting to tap into it in-game. Not a great runner or performer in the field, but should play just fine at first base. Needs to make consistent contact for bat to reach ceiling.

West Virginia commit. 6-foot-3, 225-pounder followed up his impressive performance at the West Virginia Preseason All-State showcase with another solid showing. Showcased 99 mph bat exit velocity with wood and turned in a strong batting practice round elevating balls repeatedly to the pull side. Ran a 7.07 laser timed 60-yard dash and showed athleticism around the bag at first base with accurate 80 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Grant Hussey is a 2021 1B/OF with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Washington, WV who attends Parkersburg South. Big and strong physical build. Left handed hitter, hits from a tall stance with a simple lower half glide into contact, short direct swing with an inside hand path, has quick hands, best swings were when he was getting extended and letting the barrel hunt, has the strength for huge plus power in the future. 7.00 runner, has the athleticism to play corner outfield positions if needed but has a chance to be an impact defensive first baseman, shows plus range, outstanding on pop ups in all directions, plenty of arm strength and lower half quickness

Grant Hussey, 1B, Dirtbags Skrap Pak

The big guy in the middle of the lineup is supposed to produce runs and Hussey did that for the Dirtbags, hitting .400 in five games with seven RBI.  The 6-foot-4, 220 pound left-handed hitter picked up a pair of doubles along with a three-run home run to highlight his power, which will be on display in college at West Virginia.
