Mack - 2022 MLB Draft Scouting Report - C - Daniel Susac

Daniel Susac

C      6-4     205     Arizona

2021 Arizona stat line - 61-G, 242-AB, .335/.392/.591, 12-HR, 65-RBI, 47-K

Mack's spin -

That is a very respectable stat line.

Joe Doyle of ProspectsLive set me straight on Susac and I thank him for doing it.

Yes, he is a bat first player and his height doesn't match the position, but his defensive skills will keep him behind the plate.

Jumps up to my #2 catcher.

 8-22-21 -

Mack -  I have Kevin Parada, Logan Tanner, and Hayden Dunhurst as my top three catchers here. Am missing anyone?

Daniel Susac is almost assuredly a better offensive prospect than Tanner or Dunhurst. Matt Wieters kind of player. Keep an eye on Johnathan French at Clemson and Jimmy Crooks at Oklahoma

7-27-21 - Prospect Love Top 100 2022 Prospects -

 16. Daniel Susac

 Catcher, Arizona

A big, tall, switch hitting catcher, Susac immediately brings back visions of Matt Wieters at Georgia Tech. Susac has a very good arm behind the plate, and more explosiveness and lateral mobility than most catchers his size do. But this guy will make his money with the bat. A potential plus hitter with plus power, Susac projects a middle-of-the-order impact bat, a run producer and an impact player up the middle of the field.

 7-17-21 - BPJ -

 Daniel Susac, C, Arizona

Susac is a well-rounded catcher who can impact the game offensively and defensively. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound catcher is athletic and has a strong arm. Offensively, Susac hit for average and power in 2021. He has solid strike zone discipline and a feel for hitting. Susac will remain behind the plate long-term.
