 LUKE HEYMAN, CATCHER

One of the better catchers in the 2022 class. Heyman has big power potential thanks to a strong feel for optimizing lift and getting to the ball out in front. That was certainly on display Sunday night as the Longwood, Flor. product sent a 94 mph Andrew Dutkanych IV fastball deep into the San Diego night — the only homer of the showcase. Heyman really gets into his legs well at the plate and extends well. A Florida Gators commit, Heyman did well for himself Sunday night.

 Mack's spin -

Heyman really stood out at the Cape this summer and put his name on all draft scout's boards that attended.

Right now he's my 12th catcher, but I can see him moving up soon.

8-22-21 - Joe Doyle @JoeDoyleMiLB

This is among the best prep changeups you will ever see. Brock Porter reaches back and grabs 97 a couple times that inning, then throws this 78mph time-bender against a brick wall to sword-up Roman Anthony. 70-grade shit.

Mack's spin -

Porter is a big time draft prospect.

I have him currently as my 7th RHP.

8-22-21 - Mack -  We never see much ink being written about second basemen. Jace Jung is obviously number one here, but could you give us five other second basemen to keep an eye on?

Joe - Surely. Robert Moore at Arkansas, Joe Lampe at Arizona State, Brooks Carlson at Samford, Jacob Blas at Arizona and Jared Poland at Louisville

2021 Arkansas stat line - 61-G, 233-AB 51-K, 41-BB, .283, .384-OBP, 16-HR, 53-RBI

Mack's spin -

Switch hitting batting average guy who does have a fair amount of pop in spite of his 5-9 height.

Also plays short.

Currently my 2nd 2Bman.

 ANTHONY HALL

 Outfielder          Oregon

Hall was one of the most consistent pieces of the Oregon offense in 2021 and figures to be a mainstay.in the middle of their lineup in 2022. The body is well-levered and he's got plenty of bat speed. He's still getting stronger and some think that may eventually move him out of a corner outfield position and into a 1B role down the road. That, obviously, would put more pressure on the bat. He's currently a fringy runner and can get to balls in the gap, though his average arm limits him at times. Hall can get into ruts where he'll strikeout quite a bit, but there's an up arrow next to him name in draft circles thanks to big tools at the plate. Scouts expect to see a surge in homers and slugging for Hall in 2022.

 2021 Oregon stat line - 50-G, 168-AB, .286/.342/.470, 6-HR

Mack's spin -

Very little ink so far on Hall.

Seems to be a good contact hitter.

He isn't on my board yet.

Noah Schultz

If you’re looking for the funkiest and most uncomfortable AB in the class, then look no further than Vanderbilt commit Noah Schultz. Standing a hulking 6’8”, 215 lb while working out a low three quarters slot is not something you see very often. Schultz showed two above average to plus pitches in his outing in St. Pete with a 90-92 mph fastball that he could command anywhere in the zone with elite spin rates and a breaking ball that sat in the low to mid 70s with a ton of swing and miss. Breaker was consistently around 3000 RPMs as well. The combination of Schultz's frame and his ability to repeat his delivery tells me there’s plenty more in the tank and gives the lefty considerable upside in this strong prep pitching class.

Mack's spin -

Current on my board as the 7th LHP.
